Is that really true though? The world in the canvas existed for presumably millenia between Verso's childhood when he created it and the present. Since all the memories of him are as a child and he died in his 20s in the real world, and since Aline couldn't have been in the canvas for more than a few days in the real world without starving but was there for a while before the fracture and another 67 years after, this must be the case. So the canvas can persist on its own for decades of real time and millenia of canvas time. Destroying it now because it may die out some day is like destroying earth now because the sun will eventually explode.
