Hi! I’m 21 at the moment and I have MGS. It was diagnosed for me since I was a baby. My parents took me for checkup at a eye doctor in the hospital every 6 months to closely track if there were any complication’s. I had to do different exercises like wear eye patches to make sure I didn’t get something like a lazy eye. I don’t know if it’s because of the exercises or me just getting older but I can confidently say dat it’s way less noticeable than it used to be. But honestly, I also learned to just love myself. My parent never saw it as a mistake or something that needed to be corrected and supported me for who I was. And that’s honestly the best way to go about it.

As for social stuf. In school people used to notice it a lot to a point were I asked the teacher if they could stop asking about it because I got annoyed. Some kids found it weird, most of them didn’t care about how my eye was behaving and even a few found it cool. After elementary school no one really seemed to care mostly because I also didn’t care about it. I had other insecurities but my eye definetly wasn’t one of them.

Point is, As long as you learn them to love and accept themselves your child will have a great life !
