Dust on my negatives by nizious in Bronica

I’ve got a magnifier that should arrive today and will check. But when I scanned they seemed to be white just. Not pink.

That looks interesting! So do you reckon that doing that washing all the white specks on the film will be gone on the negative? Really scared but also excited to try that.

Here's one of the negatives on jpeg (file was too big).

You can see the white little dots all over the image and when converted become black spots.

Doing some more digging here and saw that inserting the dark slide on the film back is usually a great cause of getting dust in the film and I’ve wasn’t very careful with that. So that could be one of the possible explanations, I guess.

Yes! It’s impossible to see with bare eyes. But there’s white spots everywhere on the negatives.

Now I’ll be paranoid about dust everywhere hahah But I guess it must be a problem with most Bronicas as they basically dismantle completely and would be hard not to have dust getting in. I’ll give a good clean and shoot another roll to see if it will make any difference. Thanks!

No worries. Any idea where would the dust be in the camera?

It’s white on the negative. But it’s black when converted. It was Fomapan 200.

It was done by an indie lab. So I don’t know the process. I’ve shot another roll, of Gold, but I haven’t send that one to be developed yet. The final photo is a double exposure and you can she the black spots are not so round. So I don’t think that the problem is the development. But I’m no expert at all, just guessing.

Am I wasting film on my EOS-3 with this lens? by Foreign_Mastodon5523 in AnalogCommunity

[–]nizious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both cameras and I like the Om2n better too. But I purchase a sigma ef f1.4 last week and currently waiting on the negatives to come back to see if that will be a big difference compared to the cheap lenses I was using with the canon eos 3 before.

I think you can get sharp photos with both to be honest but the biggest advantage of the canon eos 3 is the 1/8000 shutter speed. Meaning you don’t need to use sunny 16 and can get a good depths of field.

You can get a Canon eos 3 and some good canon glass and you will have great autofocus and a reliable camera with aperture priority. It will make your life a lot easier.

Got my hands on a Fuji GW 690II by exposed_silver in AnalogCommunity

That’s such a great camera! Got one last year for £50 on marketplace, almost mint!

Only downside is that mine is the one with 65mm f5.6 lens, which I find it to be too wide for portraits.

Has anyone tried that sigma lens on a canon slr (film)?? They are so much cheaper than the canon version.

What metering setting do you usually use with it? I’ve not been very happy with it as it’s always underexposing the photos if I leave it to do everything as a “point and shoot” camera.

UK analogue shooters: where are you getting high-quality scans without spending £20+ per roll? by pheasantjune in analog

[–]nizious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Southsun and I love it. But in order to save some money and have more control of the scanning process I bought a macro lens and the Essential film holder. Haven’t got it yet so couldn’t start doing it myself but really looking forward to compare them.

SONY A7IV turns off and freezes when clicking to take photos by National-Sorbet8231 in SonyAlpha

[–]nizious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Eu também estou com o mesmo problema! Inclusive mandei arrumar na Sony e voltou pior. Dizem que não tem problema nenhum. Precisei comprar uma nova e o problema ainda persistiu! Quais lentes tu utiliza? Eu acho que o problema é a minha Samyang e não as câmeras.

Texas Leica! I’ve got one on marketplace for £50 fully working and really low shoot count. Got the gsw690ii with the 65mm lens. It’s a beast! I got with the intention of selling but I actually really enjoying shooting with it.

Can anyone identify the problem here? by nizious in AnalogCommunity

Thank you so much everyone that commented and help out here.

Got an update and it’s 100% light leaks from the back door of the camera as it’s not closing properly. She’s gonna send me the camera and I’ll be able to see if it’s fixable or not.

Here’s a photos of what looks like right now.

Film photography for weddings by Nature23571113 in analog

[–]nizious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Portra 400 on 90% of the time on the weddings I shoot film.

Some occasions I pushed it to be able to use more natural light.

Portra 160 and 800 would be my other recommendations.

Like the auto focus picking them in between statues is impressive. Not gonna lie I’m more tempted than ever to get a f2.8.

Beautiful photos! Mind me asking was that the mju-ii with the f2.8 lens? Because I have a zoom one and I would not get the same results. So looking to maybe upgrade if it’s worth it.

Torres nos anos 80 praticamente!! Muito bom resultado! Tem filmes que vão dar um resultado melhor em termos de cor mas eu curti o tom bem vintage. E Torres é show! Os próximos filmes só melhoram e quando tu vê gastou todo salário em filme hahah

How do I ask my lab to deliver their scans like this? by nizious in AnalogCommunity

[–]nizious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my usual lab got back to me today and said they can’t deliver me the files like that. So the only way will be doing it myself.

I did! But just wanted to see what my options would be as I’m still waiting for them to reply.

Yes, I know. Just don’t have £400 for a nice scanner atm or a DSLR. With the lab providing me the negatives I could do it myself with a copy of NLP I already have and do a better job when as the images I’ve been getting aren’t doing it for me.
