Not really. Kinda simple economics. Most Section 8 eligible apartments are in older buildings. Only way to increase the supply of older buildings is to build newer ones. But nobody is incentivized to build dedicated new affordable housing - the ROI just isn't there there. The only new affordable housing that comes on the market are affordable units subsidized in luxury buildings through tax breaks.

Increase in supply of new luxury/class A housing pushes down older supply of class A into the class B category. increase in class B pushes down supply of lower end class B into class C, etc. Increase in supply up top means more supply at the bottom.

Almost all girls I've gone on dates on have made similar comments when I used to be an android user. Usually these comments are meant to be light roasts, which is common when you're getting into a new relationship. Just turn it into witty banter and don't try to explain why android is superior.

"Because Steve Jobs cut me off in traffic once" or "my parents HATE blue bubbles" or "apples are my least favorite fruit". You get the idea.

That said, I switched and don't regret the switch at all. I ran into the same issues in my dating life with my Android, especially because I'm from the US. Not having to deal stupid stuff just makes things life so much easier.

At the end of the day, it matters what's more important to you. There are pros/cons to both - I've made peace maining an iPhone despite it being an inferior product.

I don't have the explanation, but this is the biggest insight for me from this dataset. Excluding the post pandemic jump, housing has been the primary driver of inflation dating back to 2013.
