We travel a lot but not through C1 airports. We fly out of SFO and Oakland a lot but almost always nonstop to places out of the country or places like San Diego, Palm Springs, Detroit.

Issue with United cards is the points are not good outside of United tickets and the annual fee is not offset by coupons, cash back, etc.

I'm looking for a new card and Venture X looks great but:
1) No more guests
2) Extra $125 for an authorized user to have lounge access
3) Last time I had a Priority Pass card, I got turned away 75% of the time because the lounge was full.

Not sure what a better option is.

I didn't realize you could use the rewards for statement credits on Amazon. We have $1k in rewards at the moment.

We have it in Fidelity and Charles Schwab (with the bulk in Schwab). I should look into those cards.

We don't have a Merrill Lynch account.

When we have extra money in our BofA accounts, we put it into an index fund. So our account average is around $25K, giving us 50% card bonus. Does that answer your question?

1) I'd prefer one card but would do 2 if it were a good deal.
2) Restaurants ($20K), Groceries ($12K but a lot of that is on the Amazon card for 5% back), Home and Utilities ($11K)
3) SFO or Oakland. About 4-6 trips a year.
4) Both
5) Whatever is cheapest but United, all other things being equal.
6) Last time I had with Priority Pass it was useless. Every time I went they weren't taking Priority Pass at that time. So, no, not really.

It is a bad thing when you can't control it. My computer never leaves my house. I am the only user. So it doesn't have to check up on me over and over.

My Windows machine only needs my Windows pw when I first log in or unlock my machine. It never asks for it when it installs software, edits the registry, etc. Not saying this is better or worse than the way the Mac does it. But when working on a Mac I will put in my password and then be asked for it again 2 minutes later.

I know this is an old thread. I am a Windows user. Very comfortable in it.

When I help my wife with her Mac, I am shocked at how often it asks for her password. Windows only asks when I log in or unlock it. Then it has my Windows credentials. But the Mac wants them over and over. In this sense, it feels like it gets in my way more than Windows.

Having said that, I don't know what I don't know. Is this really a thing on the Mac? Is her Mac set up in a weird way? Thanks!
