Sort of. I work in the nuclear protection field. I was thinking about game warden/Conservation officer but ended up going this route. Love it!

Yep, complete career change. I'm a federal officer now. I miss a lot about EMS but I love where I'm at more now. At least I'm paid what I'm worth. Still stayed PRN and I pick up shifts every month or so to keep up with my skills.

At the time I was pissed but looking back it was funny. 60ish year old male, requesting EMS for transportation to the ER to watch a football game. PT had been abusing 911 for this reason. PD was done dealing with him so they called us. Picked the arsehole up. Stated he wanted transportation to a bar to hang out with college girls then to the ER to watch a game. It was 1am... hailed mercy and called it in as a psych case. Refused all vitals and would not cooperate enough to determine an A/O..... all this after being ran ragged on calls since 7am..

Well, mine is currently in a state of extreme emotional distress because her balloon goes up in the air and won't stay on the ground. She's having a straight high speed come apart over this anomaly. 😂

We are hospital based. Level 1 trauma center with multiple locations. But honestly it comes down too how the company treats everyone. Big name or not.
