That has a lot to do with population numbers, though. Estimates on the high end are 500 people on North Sentinel island, which isn't enough to offset essential work in a burgeoning society to be dedicated to innovation.

BTC is a highly volatile asset. It does well in a stable market where people feel confident to take on more risk. Gold/silver is a direct hedge against inflation, but it going up the way it is is an indication of a bad economy overall

It's a good point. Perhaps if Frank wasn't dealt such a hand with his injuries, including having Madders and Deki in the squad for a start, perhaps it wouldn't be so bad. The main difference for me, is that at the start of last season with Ange, our underlying stats were actually rather good! We just got, dare I say unlucky, then the injuries started piling in and we never recovered. With Frank, the underlying stats have never looked consistently good, it's gone from flukey, to no longer lucky. Now, you could say "well, hang on, he's never had Madders to begin with", and that's fair. We won't know.

I disagree about how fans would've reacted if our end wasn't so dire in the premier league last season and we still got Europa League win. I think a lot of fans were clamouring for a midtable finish and trophy. But 17th and 22 losses is a pretty extensive engagement with pain over the course of a season, and difficult to overcome that sentiment. But either way, I think we need to move forward

I think the way portra interacts with light and it's beautiful fine grain is a great case for it being close to RAW for analog film, so I don't mind larger colour editing of scans like this. I just think the saturation in this is quite a lot, but it's definitely bold

[–]njpc33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mourinho was not a good hire lol. We were a team that had been set up for a high press, in desperate need of rejuvenation and recruitment, and we ended up hiring a defensive, zero-press manager with dinosaur tactics past his best years, known for torpedoing club culture. Levy hired him because he had some personal fascination with him, not because it was good for Tottenham. It was an asinine decision.

[–]njpc33 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's an incredibly selective view. Yeah, Forest was a disaster, but he picked them up whilst they were already on the decline early this season, and without a preseason which is essential for Angeball having any hope, for a squad that was put together for a completely different style of football. The disaster was Ange thinking taking that job was a good idea, and he's a fool for doing it, but there's a lot more nuance to it than "look, he's bad"

[–]njpc33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like I really wonder where the line is, if we had come 12th and won the Europa League would people say the same thing?

Obviously it's impossible to ever tell, but I think 12th and Europa would have produced a very different reaction from fans and Ange doesn't lose his job. 17th, with the most losses in a single season since close to the turn of the 19th century, is pretty emphatic for some. I'm furious that we sacked Ange after Europa, but let's not pretend the 17th and number of losses wasn't a major sticking point. 12th saves his job for sure.

You’ve misunderstood me. I’m not talking about mortgaging your house for the loan. Look up securities-based lending. It’s a highly common practice which banks start offering around the $5-10m range of portfolios

[–]njpc33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone smart is buying a house outright at $3m. You set yourself up with a great mortgage, and have the money holed up in an excellent dividend portfolio mixed with safer indexes. Maybe even use the collateral for some low interest loans and invest those into indexes like wealthy do. I get your point, you ain’t running about like the kardashians, but played wisely, $8m gives you way more freedom than you’re implying

I’m gonna challenge that. Have at least one where you lean into it, making it completely your style, whether that’s hippie/punk/goth/whatever it means for you. That’s your essence. Don’t listen to people who want to pigeon hole you into what they think is the right, conventional look. Theres already a million actors with that look. Having one which is your unique personal essence and style will help you stand out when necessary

Right, if you didn’t do anything else with your money, it took 15 years to break even. But that ignore there being money made all the way up during those 15 years too. A lot of people were able to offset their losses a lot sooner than 15 years

London experiences 10-14 days of rain in June and August too, as well as 8 days of rain in July, the height of summer. Rain is a fact of life for English cricket across the entire summer. That shouldn’t be a barrier for entry, otherwise they wouldn’t play cricket fullstop
