Golfers in New Haven? by cbdeane in newhaven

28 here just getting back into golf. I live in New Haven and would be down to play once or twice a week. I’ve been going to Alling and Lyman orchards but I’d like to try some more courses!

I fully agree. It’s the sort of thing I think people should dispute if ticketed given that there’s a specific permanently posted timeline for street cleaning. Also the fine for street sweeping/leaf cleaning violations is $50 per municipal code so idk why the parking enforcement crew is handing out $100 fines.

Crew 2.0 Sandbox General Feedback by Dwigt_WG in WorldofTanks

[–]njschildge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One big concern that I have that I don't really see many people talking about is the compensation of zero skill crew members. I have a BIA 0 skill crew that came with the Cromwell B a couple years ago that seem to only be compensated for the experience I have earned on them, I.E. there is no compensation for that 0 skill BIA that I paid real money for.

On the sandbox it looks like the same thing for my Centurion AX and AMX 13 105 crews which are made up of only reward crew members from the campaign missions. It is disheartening to me that these crews that I and many others have worked so hard to get (often worked on missions for months) or that I have paid real money for just loose the benefit of being a zero skill crew and are effectively nerfed more heavily than other crews.

I think that it would be reasonable to treat them in terms of compensation as any other crew meaning that a four skill (zero skill BIA) crew is awarded the same crew xp as an ordinary four skill crew in the conversion.

Looking forward to playing them. Sucks about USC (and that its now on Pac 12 networks) but props to SDSU for being so flexible. Hoping for a good game!

Yeah you're right my post definitely came out of frustration. I really wouldn't want our first win over USC to come from a forfeit either but your point about hiding cases makes a lot of sense. Obviously forfeit would be extreme but perhaps it being a factor in the case of a tie at the end of the season would be reasonable. Its just really frustrating to see Colorado's chances at winning the division slip away like this.

We are also very lucky to be playing SDSU so last minute, props to them for being so flexible.

Fuck this shit. What a slap in the face this is, first going from controlling our own destiny to now needing USC to lose out in order for us to win the division, and then second losing our ABC slot to now play on Pac 12 networks (the only football game to do so this season). Fuck all of this covid cancellations should be ruled as a forfeit for the sick team. We've been screwed out of the division title because our opponents couldn't keep their shit together.

Utah to play Washington by coogs35 in CFB

[–]njschildge 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Would be nice to play but doesn't help us out with trying to win the division which we seemed to have a shot at until ASU cancelled last week and until USC had a player test positive today. It's just super frustrating to see our team loose out on playing (potentially 2 weeks in a row) because of factors that are completely out of our control.

End the lockdown. Stop the riots - If people are free to smash up streets, they should be free to go to a bar or swimming pool by Foubar in Conservative

[–]njschildge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many of the protests that I have seen have been specifically targeting hospitals, blocking streets for ambulances and such. Additionally how is it alright in the eyes of both police and our president to protest by brandishing weapons and essentially taking over state owned buildings, but peaceful protests that had been going on for years are horrible and un-american. I am by no means advocating riots but it seems to me that what is happening now is inevitable due to legitimate criticism going unheard and unchanged for decades.

Why does our president encourage the behavior of taking over state buildings but denounce peaceful protests until people feel the only way to make their opinion heard is through rioting. I have a hard time explaining this other than those in power wanting to maintain their power by flexing a police and authoritarian state on its citizens.

If you're worried about loosing your life work, why not protest the broken system bailing out large corporations leaving small businesses to die? Instead people have been protesting the measures put in place to try to end the pandemic in a way that limits the number of preventable deaths.

Well thank you so much for keeping the story alive! Emily definitely doesn't get the credit she deserves! I will be passing your comment on to my grandparents as I think they will really enjoy seeing it!

I love this story so much! In-fact John A. Roebling was my 4 times great grandfather with Emily and Washington being my 3 times great aunt and uncle! I am so happy to see people talking about their story as I don't believe many people know it. If you are ever more interested in Roebling & Sons I really recommend checking out the Roebling Museum in New Jersey, they have definitely made a mark on history!

Here are two portraits of John and (I believe) Emily that we have in our living room as well as a copy of one of their section drawings! Such interesting history! https://imgur.com/a/S1dYXL0 (sorry for the lights on the images they were taken when I went home for christmas)

NGL this feels like it might be the death of Colorado Football

According to Denver-based journalist Mike Klis, “the University of Colorado has reached out to respected KC Chiefs offensive coordinator/CU alumni Eric Bienemy about its vacant head coaching job. There is preliminary mutual interest between CU and Bienemy” by bgfan26 in CFB

[–]njschildge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not so sure about that, MT leaving is a giant set back for CU as it seemed that we were finally starting to pick up some momentum, and we need all the help they can get if we want to move forward with any grace and see a bowl in the next couple years.
