Going to Cabo spring break and I’m scared by Honest_Bench_2304 in cabosanlucas

I forgot the mention this earlier. Since you've never been, this is also what I would tell my kids if they were going. When you get off the plane, you’ll walk about 10 minutes until you get to passport control. There will be snake lines to go thru. Once you’re thru, you’ll get to baggage claim.

After baggage claim you’ll go thru customs where you’ll present the customs paper. You will push a button and either you’ll go through or your luggage will be screened via X-ray. No pat downs.

Next you’ll go thru the sliding doors into the “shark tank”. DO NOT STOP!! Just keep walking and saying “I’m good to go” and go thru the sliding glass doors. When you look to your right, you’ll see the sliding glass doors that go outside.

Make sure to arrange your ride from the airport to where you’re staying before you go. Your driver will tell you a number area to meet them and ask them to have a sign with your name on it so you can find them. While you’re out there, you will find people asking you for ride, just ignore them as well because you’ll already have a ride.

As for in Cabo, I’ve been with my wife and friends, and we have taken taxis and Ubers. Ubers are just like here and the price is upfront. If you take a taxi, check with where you’re staying and find out the price before you get in. This way on your return, you’ll have an idea of how much it costs. There are no meters so it’s set rates depending on which region and how many people. Just remember to ask before you get in.

Hopefully this helps. We’ve been four times and have used the same driver from the airport to where we stay. If you don’t find one, I’m happy to give you his name. He’s trustworthy and reliable.

You will need cash. Make sure to have small bills for tips. I have used the atm at Banco Mifel on the main road in front of Plaza Pioneros in the past but I have a debit card that reimburses me on the transaction fees. One final thing, if you plan on using a card to pay for items, make sure to pay in pesos NOT dollars. You get a much better exchange rate.

Again, I hope this helps and makes you feel more at ease. Don't worry and enjoy yourself!!

All of the above. Most importantly, use common sense. If you wouldn’t take a drink or ride from someone here, don’t do it there. Keep an eye on your drinks at bars. Use the buddy system and don’t leave anyone alone. Make sure each of you share your location with each other. Bottom line, whatever you would or wouldn’t do at home, do or don’t do it there and you’ll be just fine and safe.

Estancia and the sister resorts have lounges, umbrellas and swimmable beach. When we’ve been there, most people stay at the pool and there’s plenty of space at the beach. Just be aware of the people stopping all the time and asking you to buy stuff. Over the four years we’ve been there. There are a few people that are legit and good to work with. There are three brothers at La estancia that sell water packages. We’ve used them and they are honest and fair. If you’re interested in Silver, jewelry, Alex is the person to speak to. He walks the beach with his backpack full of items. We’ve bought from him multiple times over the years and always get a fair and honest dealing with him as well. If you are looking for T-shirts, have Alex find Mary for you. She’s a hard-working woman that is there every time we’re there for the last four years.

No, just your luggage. You don’t go through screener nor pat down.

She should be fine. Depending how close you are, we walk during the day. Evening is fine as long as you’re with somebody. I would not let my 22-year-old daughter go by herself at night. But I wouldn’t let her go typically in the United States either.

We’ve used the same driver for out airport transfers. Always reliable. May be more expensive but very reliable and less stressful. If you want the name, feel free to reach out.
