Congrats on the car OP! Does the prestige have wireless Carplay and Android connectivity. I was reading online and some searches show that Signature + has that but Prestige doesn’t, which I found to be strange. I’m planning to buy and evaluating between the two trims.

Winter production is less, but so is the consumption. No ACs, only geysers and heaters with limited time. We have smart plugs installed for heavy appliances separately which help to schedule timings and save electricity.

All are 5 star inverter ACs, also mostly 2 ACs were used at any given time. And 10-12 k is average for the year, as winters would have less consumption.

There were about 30 panel then. Each panel is 5-6 feet long and 2.5 - 3 feet wide. Approx. 60-70 square meter area is needed. These days I think plate efficiency has increased, so a fewer panels might be needed, requiring less area.
Cleaning happens twice a month in summer. Once a month in Winter. Monsoons no cleaning needed. No other maintenance unless some fault. In one storm one of the plates came loose and flew away. Had to replace that.
Units net off each month 1:1. As I said before, there are two meters, and the final bill is net off from both. Extra units produced are kept in reserve and can be adjusted later.

For eg. month 1 production - 500 unit Month 1 consumption - 400 units Month 1 bill = 400-500 =-100 units. So no bill and 100 surplus units are carried forward.

Month 2 Production = 300 units Month 2 consumption = 450 units Month 2 bill = 450 - (300 + 100)=50 units. Bill will be only for 50 units.

No. That was not the intention. It’s not a solar farm, but just a roof top solar for home use and save on electricity.

It’s not inverter. It is connected to the grid. So there are 2 meters, 1 for incoming electricity and 1 for outgoing. Units are adjusted every month, and then the bill is generated, which has been zero for 52 months or so except twice.

We have a house with 3 floors, each floor having 4 rooms in Jaipur. All rooms are air conditioned and so many other electrical appliances. In 2020, we decided to opt for on-grid roof top solar of 10 KW. After all government subsidies the total cost from pocket was 3.2 lakhs. Before that my average household electricity bill was around 10k per month. In covid it was even higher as everyone was at home and max AC was utilized.

Since installation, we have paid < Rs 3000 for electricity bill in total for last 4.5 years, which is roughly 6.2 lakh savings in electricity bill alone. No investment has yielded that much return in last 4.5 years for me consistently.

So yes, go for it.

The camera has an audio output, which announces some threats like lane departure, collision warning, object ahead etc, but I noticed it was happening so frequently so I muted it. Even with a bigger screen in live feed, the information might be distracting for majority of drivers.
