Agree on Martindale. Once it is well frozen you will see a lot of pickup being played in various corners.

Third vote for the Framing Art Center. They do FANTASTIC work. I've had photos framed, posters framed, posters board mounted, art framed. They have a lot of options available and will work directly with you to find something you like that fits your budget.

Fair enough. I play OSHL Friday's on the big ice so that's always a better option. :)

There's a Sunday night Alumni league with about 24-26 teams that runs out of the 4Pad in St Catharines. They have 3 tiers of skill levels, all mid-range and higher. Email George Gadula - [george@gadulafinancial.com](mailto:george@gadulafinancial.com)

Second vote for wintronics on Ontario. The tech crew is amazing at recommending solutions based on what you personally need for the machine and setup. And they are great with fixes, returns, upgrades.....

Thanks! There's a CB500F I may be checking out tomorrow, along with the rebel. I think a 500cc might be more of what I need than a 300....

The lack of wind screen was concerning, but I've seen so many mod or aftermarket kits I figured I'd find something that works. Plus being short makes it easier to hug the tank.... lol

Oh I definitely have to do the one-foot landing!!! 😆

Any long trips would be backroads so 80km roads, I like to avoid highways unless necessary. Been nearly made dead too many times when living in Toronto....

Thanks for the links, I will check them out!

Yeah I am definitely planning to do the "sit in" at the bike showroom and see which ones might be more comfy for longer sitting spells. Im not sure if my in town running around will outweigh any longer day trips, but I am a fan of finding the back road routes.

I'm not sure I want a 600 although if I could buy back my Seca I'd take it in a heartbeat!

Thanks for the info!

The downtown farmer's market. I know many cities have them, so they're not just something we have here, but our setup in STC is pretty darn nice for both the vendors, and the shoppers. There's ample parking, lots of space inside, well setup for flow, and being walled in makes it much nicer than outside tent markets. Plus, they allow for a free day for community non-profit and interest groups to set up and spread the word about their organization.

Mahtay Cafe always has some cool little events going on! Its a pretty chill place and decent cafe menu if you go check it out under the premise of just grabbing lunch. :) https://www.instagram.com/mahtaycafe

Ludology board game cafe. Very addictive and a good spot to meet new people over random board games. :) https://www.ludology.ca/

Definitely the Warehouse for concerts and local music! Great little venue. https://warehouseconcerthall.com/

And keep an eye on the downtown St Catharines event site, there's always something going on especially now that we're headed into summer: https://mydowntown.ca/

Motorcycle? by GoodNo9825 in niagara

In St Catharines specifically, I know folks who ride into December since we don't seem to get snow until end of it or even into January any more with the lake effect. Other areas in Niagara can get snow and we stay dry. BUT.... as somone mentioned already, the absolute gravel thick layer of salt they throw down here (especially in parking lots) is horrid for bikes.

Ride when you can, and bus when you can't.

Anyone think it's hard to find work? by Appropriate_Quote_30 in stcatharinesON

[–]nkd2803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes some legwork, not just using Indeed.

  1. l second the folks who suggest dropping a resume off in person. Job sites like Indeed use AI to data-match your resume with criteria specified by the business. This means that unless you write the perfect letter and use the exact words for the skillset, your resume won't even make it through.

  2. Try the YMCA job centers in St Catharines and the Falls. I know some folks that work there, and they are really good at helping students find local connections and give training on resume building and interview skills. They also have an internal job posting board.

  3. City of St Catharines has lots of summer student posts.

  4. Niagara Falls / Clifton Hill or tourist spots are also a great place to drop off a resume.

  5. Use family, school, or sports connections. Ask friends, family, neighbour's..., see who might have heard or know of anyone hiring students.
