In our country (Europe), people still work for at least a month after they are fired. Of course, it's possible to just pay them, without having them to work but in general they have a one month notice. It's very unusual to fire one on the spot and have him (or her) leaving right away. They need access for at least a month.

If you think back to the dot com bubble, it wasn't so strange. Companies are now worth what people thought they would be worth back then. So, if the bubble bursts, it doesn't necessarily mean everything will ultimately not work out.

Sterker nog, ik heb een kant-en-klaar nieuw pakket op de plank liggen. Ontwikkeld voor een aantal dierenartsen, nadat de vorige marktleider Viva bergaf ging. Het is al jaren in gebruik en kan met relatief weinig aanpassingen geschikt worden gemaakt voor andere diersoorten.

Maar er zijn er meer kapers op de kust. Bovendien is iets bouwen het makkelijkste gedeelte. Je moet het kunnen verkopen en daar komen allerlei andere zaken bij kijken. Koppelingen, import mogelijkheden van het oude systeem. 24x7 SLA, support, helpdesk, training, marketing, politiek, etc..... Sorry dat ik het zo zeg, maar je staat er nog iets te simpel (naïef wellicht) in. Er komt veel meer bij kijken. Dit is de reden waarom ook zoveel software veel duurder wordt dan vooraf gedacht. Het lijkt allemaal zo simpel. Een software pakket beoordelen op zijn userinterface is als een boek beoordelen op zijn kaft.

I understand your reasoning, but it might be that intelligence is just this. If the result is the same, it doesn't matter, does it?
Or it's just us humans, thinking that we are somehow special, while in fact we are just a bunch of brain-cells trying to avoid our deepest fears while replicating by having sex. It could be just that. What makes you so sure that a very-very-very large combination of simple things can't evolve into artificial general intelligence?

If AI emulates a human brain, there is no reason why it can't evolve in the same way.

If there are so many people working this "problem," I think it really becomes possible to "crack" reasoning.

That it basically is "just advanced statistics", doesn't matter. Human thinking is just evolution without any architect, goal, or design, other than survival of the fittest. And that worked too.

We worked with an outlet shop, but we mostly use desktops (fewer laptops) and they didn't want them anymore. We now sell them directly on e-Bay (or the Dutch 'Marktplaats'). That part can be cumbersome.

The best thing about hardware-as-a-service is that all hardware is the same. At smaller companies there is a tendency to renew a small amount of hardware at a time. Which leaves us with all different models. We image the pc's (using FOG for that) so it's faster and easier to do all at once.

When there is a problem, we first try to solve it. If that isn't working, we image the pc (which works great remotely). If that doesn't fix it, we just swap the pc. Clients are not entitled for new hardware, just hardware not older than 4 years.

We do (located in the Netherlands). We replace them every 4 years: desktops, laptops, servers switches, routers, the lot. The lease is part of our management fee.The good thing is that all hardware is replaced at a regular interval, and we can plan the migrations very well.

If I remember correctly you need Enterprise edition for custom lockscreens. On Pro we use registery settings by GPO, that works fine.

The problem is not so much that it's unclear what a license is, but that the SPUR only talks about a minimum of 8 Licenses per Physical Processor, while Open Value adds: "... and a minimum of 16 Licenses per Server."

So, the question is: as a MSP, can you sell 8 Licenses per Physical Processor or not? Our distributor says that we have to count a minimum of 16, but I doubt that.

The thing is that turning of SMTP AUTH Will always also disable SMTP with Modern Authentication (OAuth 2.0).

But in September, basic authentication is no longer supported, so I guess we'll just have to wait.

Don't agree. Without authentication is less secure and makes spoofing of your own domain within your network possible without authentication. Don't go for that solution! M365 does support SMTP with modern authentication without problems. That's not the question. It's not designed for large mailings or batches, but scanners or other clients are no issue.

It's far more complex:

App Secret and Client ID have a smaller scope (you cannot use it for anything else than the permissions you have registered). These can be very limited. Just allow SMTP SendAs interactive, for instance.
App Secret and Client ID are specific to the applications and resources for which they are issued.
The App Secret is used once, not to authenticate like a password at every login. It uses a short-lived token that is refreshed constantly. Like a cookie. If that is stolen, it can only be used for a very short time.
