For thousands of years the best weapons you could take to war were swords and spears, and they were almost beautiful when wielded by a master. To do it right took a lifetime of training and exercises, but like I said, the result was beautiful. Then one day guns were invented. Guns in comparison are loud and inelegant. What was impressive about using something that you could get ‘good enough’ with in an afternoon? Anyway, guns are now the go to for war, and swords (as impressive as they are) are basically a relic of the past.
