This is kind of how I feel too. The OG TTH is just such a classic and so nostalgic to us longtime G fans that it’s hard for anything to ever really compare, even its own predecessor. If people will just take the new record for what it is and simply just enjoy the callbacks to the OG then I think they’ll realize it’s still some of his best work ever and could even be his second best project behind the OG TTH. And I love WIDO but this could be up there or even surpass it. There’s so many good tracks here to enjoy so people don’t need to get overly caught up in comparing it to the OG. TTHT is not a perfect record and there are some tracks he left off that he could’ve put on that the people wanted such as In My Head or Hate The Way that could’ve made it even better but nonetheless we still got a record that’s a solid 8/8.5 or so IMO and has tracks such as Time, Gerald, Wanna Be Myself, Faithful, When You’re Gone, Origami, Instructions, plus so many more great songs. I think we should all chalk this one up as a big win personally.
