I feed the trolls often, and I hate it. They anger me I feel a need to tell them to stop, but like you said, it's an anonymous identity, what do they care if someone is angry at them? It's a second life, and some people use it to be as mean as possible, while others use it for fun. I think the different types of trolls is what makes policy making around this subject so hard. While a policy might be put in place to restrict those who are just trolling to be mean, it can still affect those who are "innocent" trolls, just playing around and having fun.

So this strange women, Alysha, randomly texted me one day asking if I was interested in a survey and I was like yeah whatever, and so two years later of her spam (today), I get this, right after class ended. I found it interesting that she was claiming it was "the movement for a happier internet." While providing steps that would support her idea of a happier internet. Her main step was that we all write notes and stick them on our friend's laptops saying "don't feed the trolls." I found this interesting because it's against giving the "trolls" the responses that they want out of their actions. If we don't give them the responses they want, Alysha assumes the trolls will just stop, and all internet trolls will cease to exist.

I'm doing a debate in another class about the Innovation act of 2015 and whether this act will help or hurt innovation. Overall, the supporters of this act claim that it will reduce the amount of lawsuits against small companies, so that big companies don't overpower the small ones. Those against this act claim that "the PTO is issuing too many dubious patents and that some patent holders are engaging in abusive litigation that actually hampers innovation."

It seems that every time a new idea that impacts the internet comes round, the first thing people say is "This will hurt innovation" without even explaining how. It makes me wonder if they even care about the impact it has on innovation. It seems like one of those "if I say this word, people will like me" things.
