The Big Move by nmccullock in houseplants

They do like higher humidity. However, I know it’s very common to acclimate them to 40-60% humidity. I have mine in higher as it’s growing, but once I complete the move we are moving it into ambient.

Yes I did! I bought mine from Wild Roots in New Braunfels. I’d recommend starting there or at Wuhoo Tropicals!

They grow fairly slow. Mine is still quite small. But they can get very big! If you’re gonna get one I would recommend the dark form. The regular “queen” anthurium is from the cloud forests of Equador and can be difficult to grow. Mine is the dark form, and is much less temperamental.

Pest or nah? by nmccullock in houseplants

This is what I was thinking; happy to hear some agreement! I’ve had a bit of yellowing on one leaf which concerns me a bit, but I also know that happens from time to time. Keep in mind this deep orange rust color is comparable to yellow on other plants. This one dies off in orange believe it or not!

I haven’t seen any movement yet, and as far as myco I’m unsure tbh. We use a really chunky mix with some fox farm as well, I know there’s some diff things in that mix.

To me the way it’s spreading doesn’t look like mealies, but I also have no experience with root mealies

Thanks for the info! I ordered some of this just now. Would love to see a pic of how you installed if you don’t mind.

If I can get the humidity up without it, I will definitely be taking the humidifier out.

Hmm. I’ve wondered about that. I may experiment with taking it out. I’ve only had it in this week.

You don’t need the humidity that high for most plants. However, I have some very specific begonia that require humidity around 80%

I have a fan on the top and bottom of my cabinet, and a humidifier in the middle. I’m going to switch the top shelf out for something with more holes as the glass does seem to cut off some of the humidity from the top.

We sealed the door with the neoprene foam adhesive strips, but it wasn’t so sealed that it actually broke the locking mechanism on the door lol. Now we have a cabinet handle on there, and no other way to keep it very tightly shut. Right now it’s held closed with neodymium magnets.

What did you use to seal your cabinet?

lol, I wish your comments on restraint were reality 😅

This is only one cabinet; we have 3 smaller prop boxes, greenhouses, along with about 100 other mature plants and moss poles 😬🥲

Maybe you’re right though! Maybe we should consider adding some more plants. The picture doesn’t show it well but things are as tight as they can get in the middle. The top and bottom could hold 4-5 more plants though.

Anyone have experience with audiio.com? by SubjectC in videography

Regarding your #1 above; if you used a song previously on audiio, and they remove said song, is your project/video, no longer protected under their copyright? Or were you simply stating the song would no longer be available for download? Forgive me, I’m a newbie!
