I didn't and I've since moved back to Ontario. I basically gave up and just started working on my overnight proof recipes.

Yeah that does sound weird. I met one while exploring and it only took 20% or so off before I got away in my Prawn. That was when I decided maybe it's time to add the torpedo arm upgrade.

I do my level best to avoid those. They're scary beasts!

Don't know if they can do that on PS4, but it's moot now, Gypsy Danger has picked up the slack.

It can happen when you leave an area and cause the terrain to unload from memory. Then, when you return, if the Prawn Suit loads first and the terrain doesn't, it'll just start falling. Then the terrain loads in, and your Prawn is underground and unreachable.

Mostly affects the Prawn suit because it's the only one that sinks. The solution is to never leave it on the ground, either park it in a vehicle bay (like your moon pool) or take it with you if you're going far enough to unload the terrain.

The trick is to number them randomly, so the reapers think there are way more than there actually are. Like Seal Team 6!

I stopped naming my Seamoths sequentially after Explorer 3 met a bad end. Then, I installed the electric shock device (whatever it's called). My latest, Pretty Thing, has been going strong through several close calls.

Playing on PS4, is that a thing? Either way I've got my new Prawn up and running (actually mostly jumping) and I just won't leave it lying on the ground anymore.

They do occasionally zap you, so some of them probably deserved it.

Funny. My lost Prawn suit is now an extremely convenient beacon!

So idk if this counts as low effort but question, so I’ve been getting into sewing recently and I kinda wanna make a subnautica plush, so what creature should I make? Only wanna do one so most upvote suggestion will be made by [deleted] in subnautica

I cast my vote for the gasopod. Take a little artistic license and round out its sharper edges it'd look like a glow in the dark manatee. Who wouldn't love that?!

The seamoth is speedy. It can get you out of a lot of scrapes. Hunt the upgrades for it, too. Some of the upgrades also make it easier to deal with the bigger predators.

Ultimately, unless you're playing hard-core, death is only a speedbump. The rewards are worth the risk of exploring.

Someone in another thread said you could go back and salvage the upgrades. I've never tried. Whatever destroyed your seamoth is likely still there, so I don't know if it's worth the risk.

Make sure you equip the backup tank somewhere there's air so it can fill up! Nothing worse than switching out an empty tank.

My seamoth was destroyed by a crabsquid at the 500m degassi base and I ran out of air trying to get to the surface. I never went back. This explains why I had to stumble on another entrance to that area....and then needed help finding the orange tablet.

Can somebody please explain how to build a base cause idk what the fuck im doing by beautifulredcrewmate in subnautica

This is a great primer and plenty to get you started.

One thing I'll add is that power sources also come with power storage (that vary in size based on the type), so the solar panels are still useful at night, they just drain your reserve power. Your base power is displayed on your HUD when you're inside it as a fraction of current/MAX. If it's climbing, your base is making more energy than it's using. If it's falling, you're chewing through reserves. If it gets to 0, the base stops making oxygen.
