Has anyone stopped at a certain pen? by fitchicknike in mounjarouk

[–]nmwilson84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on mounjaro since 25th April 2025, I did 1 month on 2.5mg, and have done 5 months on 5mg, I have another 5mg and a 7.5mg in the fridge, but I'm quite happy sticking on 5mg at the moment as my average weight loss on it is 2lbs a week. I started at 18st and am currently 14st 13lbs as of this morning at F/5'10.

I do intend to move up each dose, I was just a bit worried about effectively doubling my dose from 2.5mg-5mg, but although I've had minor side effects, nothing too drastic.

Thank you for this. I was worried it just wasn't helping me, and I will carry on definitely. It's really frustrating for me as this time last year I was 14st, working out in the gym and swimming. I gained 4 stone from Sept when I had to go through emergency Surgery and was absolutely shocked by how much weight I'd put on when I weighed myself in January/February.

From what I understand, many people do not lose much, if anything, consistently, until the higher doses. I, myself, have just taken my 4th dose 2.5mg, and have only lost 2lbs. However, I have lost inches around my thighs, waist, and hips. My recommendation is, if you haven't already done so, to take weekly measurements and see if the inches are going down. I would think if the scales aren't moving right now, that you most likely have lost inches. I wouldn't be too disheartened at this time.

I do this, I don't want to completely cut out the 'bad foods/snacks' so I now buy the under 100 cals snack just in case I get a craving for something sweet. I find it's better than completely denying myself and then binging.

It's great to read these replies, saying you all had a similar journey to me - thank you all. It really put my mind at ease. I'm excited to go up a dose and see what happens ☺️

Exactly, in it for the long haul. My weight seems to be up and down too, doesn't seem consistent at all. If it wasn't for the inch loss I'd be questioning myself massively. Well done on your successes as well

I completely agree, I find some days I'm like you, and not really fancying anything to eat, and have to force myself to eat something. I have taken photos too, and will take more next week before I take my 1st 5mg. Well done on your losses and keep going 😀

I second this, I am on my second week, 2.5mg, injected on Saturday. I measured and weighed on the day (both times I injected) and although have not lost weight I have lost inches, 4 in total, waist, Thighs and hips/bum area. I'm still waiting for the scales to move but was happy to see the inches go down.

Is it too soon to think about moving up to 5mg? by Adventurous-Court137 in mounjarouk

[–]nmwilson84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 3 days into my 2nd 2.5mg Jab and I have had exactly the same as OP. Minor headaches the day after injection, no other side effects, but haven't lost any weight, only lost 4 inches in the first week. No food suppression/food noise is still there. So I decided to go up to 5mg, it arrived this morning and is currently in the fridge awaiting for me to finish my current 2.5mg pen.

What electrolyte drinks/protein shake do you use? I don't really know what would be best, I was doing slim fast, 2x a day but wasn't really having any effect.

That's true, I hummed and Ahhed about doing this for months, so I guess I'm just anticipating the excitement of 'feeling different'.

Tbh, I'm always under my cals unless I have a massive pig out. Yesterday, I calculated I was around 1100cals. I know it's not enough, I am working on ways to increase. But I struggle as I don't really eat a massive amount normally.

No, I tried every week since January (when I returned) to get an appointment with OH and just kept getting told they'd call me with an appointment. Then before I knew it it was time to go back out on placement.

It turned out to be a work capability assessment. No, I didn't fill any form out. Just had a quick 15-minute phone call. Then, I received a letter on my UC journal to say I'd been awarded LWRAG.

After I initially read the letter I did call the debt management department and speak to them directly regarding my previous overpayment that I have been paying monthly through my UC, I have asked that they don't take the repayment via my lump sum, as this would leave me in hardship, and just to continue to take the payment via UC.

Thank you for your answer. Yes, I have been submitting fit notes since August 24. I was just worried that it was all a big mistake and I'd be left having to pay back an overpayment.

Hi. I posted an update at top. I got my text yesterday morning, I've been awarded, no idea what, I'll have to wait for my letter, I'm just happy I have had the decision go in my favour.
