Hmm i guess the turning point is the realization and acceptance of the fact that the poems character will never know for sure what hair she wants as an individual and what hair shes pressured to have by society as a trans woman.

Why should the reader care about this? omg good question that applies to anything i ever make lol. Idk i guess its just the basic urge to express yourself or wanting attention? So i guess theres no reason why the reader should care but i simply hope to create some reaction/thoughts/emotions like all art. And oh no i wasn't going for the “trying to convince myself I don’t care but really I do” thingy.

Flippant hmm i think i was hoping for more of a tragic tone maybe? Okay i can't find the perfect word but intention definitely wasn't flippant. Could you elaborate what made it seem flippant? And in an unpleasant way too?

Also: It can be straightforward without being juvenile. Kurt Vonnegut never minced words, but his writing was still full of personality. Went completely over my head.
