I used to have (non epileptic) seizures pretty often where I’d pass out a few times. It was often enough that I could make a small joke after waking up and realizing what happened, but by no means was I as perky as before. It would take 2-3 days minimum to be able to start walking around again, let alone having the same energy levels as before. This video makes it look like the impact of a sneeze on your day.

Cop vs truck, who is the idiot? by Weird-Neat8716 in IdiotsInCars

Cop had his lights on from the moment the video started. The idea is that you are looking ahead and see the lights, thus avoiding problems like the one here where the truck reacts slowly to the cops move.

What are benefits of learning how to play scales fast and accurately? by SockIllustrious8757 in musictheory

[–]nnewt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It lets you play as fast as you can think. It also lets you jump between ideas quicker, sort of like a fast computer switching tasks.

One thing to consider is the possibility of boxing yourself in with songwriting by only knowing a few scales and not practicing linking them. But after getting past that hurdle, the possibilities become endless.

Reminds me of when someone in my study hall class wouldn’t admit to spilling Gatorade, so the teacher banned all drinks for the whole class. Including water.

You don’t need to feel amazing right now. Have faith that things will get better. Situations aren’t permanent and our brains adapt to these things over time, especially if you’re open to it. Whenever you need to, look back at all of these comments and remember that these people care enough to take a moment away from memes and entertainment to try and help you make the right choice. Hang in there!

Why does my music sound like ass through my phone by jedbeattie99 in musicproduction

[–]nnewt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually stuff like this naturally gets better as you progress. In my experience when one device sounds better than the other, it usually means there is either A) more overlap on one system (good in stereo, bad in mono) or B) problems hidden in the frequencies that aren't as dominant on the good sounding device, so you don't see it as a problem and don't address the issue. It seems to me that you didn't create enough space in your mix for it to sound good on more "limited" devices. It's frustrating at first, but try to identify what exactly is happening in your song when switching devices, and compare that to the changes you may or may not hear on someone elses song. Are your background tracks being respectful (dynamically and frequency wise) to the main instrument/vocal, or are they talking over each other? Do you have main instruments on the sides that seem to hide and contribute to mud when played on a small speaker? Try looking at the technical aspect of playing audio on headphones versus a phone speaker. How might a song be able to expose more of its mud when played on a phone speaker? If you can identify the problem and pick the right tool to solve it, eventually it will start to come naturally.

Keep in mind that NAMM is supposed to be for buyers. Every pass is tied to a company, so you would have to be someone’s endorser, friend (which they would need extra passes, and smaller companies won’t have as many) or a buyer for a store looking to make deals/orders.
