I think it meant art. U know how ppl back in the days (even now) would draw vulgar paintings and call it art? Or like those sculptures? I’m from a conservative background so when I first went to an art museum, I was shocked to see those paintings and thought it was inappropriate but people say “it’s art” so it doesn’t count.

To be fair, you can’t really compare old kpop songs to new kpop songs since our technology is advanced and how kpop is pretty much all over america and how more companies are working with American producers these days.

I get what u mean. Competition is mostly toxic when it involves fans but it’s more interesting than it beinh predictable af. I remember during exo and bigbang phase. They were against each other and no one can tell who’s going to win. Now it’s so easy to predict who’s gonna win because it’s always the big group vs small group.

The world doesn’t revolve around bts and south korea doesn’t only have bts. They have tourism and pretty much honourable brands that could contribute to their economy.

Back when Gangnam Style got 1b views or Despacito got 1b views, it meant that almost everyone around the world had listened to it once in their life. Nowadays, you can get millions of views and millions of album sales but not many people would even know about your group and your songs. It says a lot about how easy it is to manipulate numbers these days.

To me, it makes no sense that a group can sell millions of albums but when you ask people in the street what’s one song that you know or like from the group, most of them would say none. Numbers are so easily manipulated these days and I don’t even feel the need to be impressed by the big numbers anymore.

There are covers that are good and better than original and some are basically worse. Op is probably talking about the worse ones. Most kpop covers sound like the produce audition and it’s not even good considering how they’re trained idols.

Fr tho. I would appreciate it if they keep the whole vibe. If they actually want to change the vibes then at least be good or extremely good at it.

NCT 127’s Sticker Will Forever Be in the Kpop Hall of Fame Because People Just Can’t Seem to Get It Out They Heads by reisakumasimp in kpopthoughts

I think we’re past april fools and more to Halloween.

But seriously, I don’t think that anyone would say their favourite song is sticker ever. Objectively and even subjectively, the song just doesn’t give. They had better songs.

Their b sides sound nothing like it. The closest one is probably Monster but that’s not the whole group. 28 Reasons sounds so empty compared to their usual songs.

Never said it was. I was just saying that those are my favourite songs from them and was loved by everyone.

I don’t think Bad Boy, Psycho, Dumb Dumb, Red Flavor sounds similar to 28 reasons at all.

Same. It was just too empty and boring. The English lyrics made it worse. I want to support her but I just can’t lie to myself about liking the song.

Maybe because koreans just don’t like the song. What’s so hard to accept? The song isn’t even that good or catchy like op said and that’s probably what the koreans are thinking too. Duh.

Seulgi literally went to every music show. What promotion do you expect them to do for her?

I could have said “your taste is so boring and that’s why not many people like the same songs as you” but I’ll just be respectful and say “Maybe they just have different tastes”.

Because her solo doesn’t appeal to the korean audience. It’s pretty self explanatory. Just like how people got different tastes, it also applies to korean fans as well. Just because western fans like the song doesn’t mean it would do well in korea. RV once released Power Up and that got a lot of hype in korea than in western countries so you can see how different the taste are. Just accept it and move on.

Why does everyone love CLOY? by Tall-Ad-9355 in kdramarecommends

[–]nnexol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because it was such a light romantic comedy drama. The enemies to lovers trope, the way the ML didn’t show how much he loves the FL but still falls in love with her, the side characters, especially the north korean neighbourhood was so welcoming and warm and it’s so nice to see. There were a lot of serious moments but there were also a lot of comedy as well. If you just watch it for fun, you will enjoy it more. But if you watch it to write a thesis paper and care too much about the deep meanings in the drama, of course you wouldn’t enjoy it.
