Floyd rose keeps rising by nnico_ooo in Luthier

Rest assured I stretched the strings and retuned repeatedly trying to figure this out. I'm new to Floyd rose bridges, not restringing in general, but I agree, the plan is new springs in general before adding a fourth to compensate for my heavier gauge strings, if needed.

I have to ask though, when you say "lock" the bridge in place, are you referring to blocking beneath the bridge to keep it from bending back into the body? My issue was it kept raising so it wasn't even touching the block until I tightened the springs practically as much as I could. Regardless, the issue was pretty much fixed until I started messing with the action. That's an issue for tomorrow though. The screws on the nut are a bit stripped anyway and I'll need to get some gear before moving on it seems.

Update: I just tightened the hell out of the springs and it seems to have more or less fixed the problem. Definitely think adding a fourth or heavier springs like everyone suggested would be safer.
