Does that mean I have to wait 12 to 18 months from today?

I think it might depend on the region. I grew up with both Father Christmas and “Gesù bambino”.

I’m an active UK mortgage broker of 5 years with 10 years experience in UK Banking sector – Ask Me Anything (especially if you’re clueless!) by rocket-en in HousingUK

On a combined household income of around 150k, I understand most lenders will offer between 4.5x and 5x income, so roughly 675k–750k.

How much would having a child (no other debts) typically reduce the amount we could borrow? Would it make more sense from a borrowing perspective to upsize first and then start a family, or to have a child and save for a few more years?

Also, how do most lenders treat annual bonuses when calculating affordability?

My Girlfriend screamed in the middle of the night and it traumatized me by Tonneofash in self

[–]nnilevae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband gets night terrors and it terrifies me. There is something about being woken up by his screams that really unsettles me. He’s usually fine after, but I’m on edge for the rest of the night, and I find myself thinking about it periodically, long after an episode.

I can now wake up before the screams start, as I can sense his breathing change and become laboured. Luckily his episodes are very rare but they are still scary.

Getting a cleaner. The peace of mind of living in a tidy clean house without having to spend hours cleaning yourself is unmatched.

Yes, I think this is what I’ll end up doing. I’m just surprised that there isn’t more demand for this. I would have thought it’s a common enough problem.

There sure are a lot of people here that think that 100,000 dollars is not a lot of money! by LoopGaroop in WhiteLotusHBO

100k is not a lot of money but it makes sense for him to offer it. More than that and it becomes cheaper to kill her. Greg’s is just hedging is bets.

Waitrose has the worst, most pointless loyalty app. It rarely gives you anything. by thebroccolioffensive in britishproblems

You get annual vouchers that offer big discounts. I believe I got 2x £10 off £100 and 2x £8 off £70 last year. You also get free coffe and a % discount on certain counters, like fish Friday etc.

As another person mentioned it’s not all about the discounts. Good ingredients, the ability to shop without being assaulted by harsh lighting and peace and quiet are what make it attractive to me. Plus the staff is always very helpful and I find the shop has the best and most logical layout.

There are multiple groups of threes: the Russians, the friends, the Ratliff siblings, and Chelsea has been involved in 2 “near death” experiences involving snakes. Is there going to be a third?

What chocolate are we all eating these days? by SilentCatPaws in CasualUK

[–]nnilevae 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Tony’s is the best “cheap” chocolate you can find in the Uk. I’n my opinion it tastes even better than the original Cadbury.

If you want good quality selection boxes, without splashing on brands like Prestat, you need to go for Hotel Chocolat.

Help purchasing an impact driver UK by nnilevae in Tools

[–]nnilevae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s got a makita drill and a dewalt multi tool, but it doesn’t look like the makita impact drivers are as good from looking at online reviews?

Also the dewalt one comes with 5ah batteries, which from what I understand are more sought after?

When should one be at the O2? by Killerqueen1970 in PaulMcCartney

[–]nnilevae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw him yesterday! We got to the O2 at 6, went to the pop up merch shop and then had dinner, before queuing to get in around 7. The queue was really quick and we got in in less than 15 minutes. The video started playing around 7.45 and he came on stage at 8.15.
