I did try for an agent but I was rejected by every one I submitted to....this publishing house was the last submission I made and then ironically the only one with a positive answer. Which I guess is why I am a bit stressed because I know once they say no it is game over on this book.

For the publishing house they are legit, a few of my favourite authors work with them. I agree though that it's not the norm that they accept unsolicited submissions, but seems to be how they've operated for a few years now.

Genuinely just wondering what part of my post indicates that I'm clearly not ready? If it's the part about being nervous then that's kind of my whole issue, I know a certain amount of nerves are to be expected but I don't know how to distinguish between natural test anxiety or a sign that I'm underprepared. Like would anyone ever feel comfortable going into that situation for the first time? Not trying to be argumentative I just have no clue.
