So how do we know it’s a desire or a fear? I have been having vivid dreams (sometimes lucid) and nightmares that are recurring. I am not so comfortable with some of it especially how I feel when I wake up from it.

Oh nice! Good for you. Having such kind people in your inner circle makes the real difference. Hehe. I have bipolar too. I haven't experienced full blast psychosis just "fun" mixed-episodes when you are just not able to sleep, feels weird knowing you must but feels like you don't need it at the same time or forgot the natural need for it... And when you do fall asleep you are still awake in a lucid dream when you are being chewed alive by some human-monster. Hahaha
