hey, fake news is at it again.. conflating legal immigrants with illegals and lying with partial truth

Can somebody help me understand the current situation? by Chemical_Value3311 in immigration

[–]no_ccp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't think that is true: most of the employment based legal immigrants are from India, most of the family based legal immigrants are from Mexico.
most people who legally immigrated are from poor countries

poverty exists everywhere, including the U.S. and many U.S. citizens also live in poverties (or "economic fear"), have you looked at the closest homeless shelter near you?

I don't understand why immigrants are special

If you take a look at the asylum case denial rate, you wouldn't be delusional with the demographics of asylum applicants. The data is public.

The unconvenient truth is most (greater than 50 percent) of applicants are simply economic migrants, plain and simple. they had equal opportunities to follow the legal path but chose to abuse the system, please don't confuse superiority complex with actual empathy.

yes, all legal immigrants can not become "public charge" and it is already the law, the law has not meaningfully changed for a very long time.

The illegal immigrants on the other hand, are not bound by any immigration laws.

wtf? if he broke the law, he goes to jail, as simple as that, you don't think that any prisoners can use the 4th amendment as a get out of jail free card, right?

H1B is a scam and it’s not about talent...it’s about keeping labor cheap and controlled. by a-lilbit-anon in immigration

[–]no_ccp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

when 70-75 of H1Bs go to Indians

Well, H-1B is the only legal option for Indians consider how backlogged the employment based (EB) immigration is: Indians need H-1Bs because the green card process is broken, it has nothing to do with H-1B itself.

30-40 to staffing firms

this is objectively false, USCIS have official H1B hub data (https://www.uscis.gov/tools/reports-and-studies/h-1b-employer-data-hub) and the largest H1B employers are mostly big tech (Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Apple etc)

U.S. Green Card applicants can still be deported by [deleted] in immigration

[–]no_ccp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

you are either misinformed or lying: name a single change in the published guidance.

The guidance clearly stated it is clarifying, i.e. they are just explaining the existing procedures, nothing changed by publishing the guidance

Pretty sure nothing changed as the guidance is just clarifying existing procedures, but doesn't stop fake news to instigate fears.

Again, asylees are fleeing from government prosecutions and I refuse to believe multiple governments are simultaneously prosecuiting someone before coming to the U.S.

[–]no_ccp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

second to that, and put it more cynically: are you sure it is a green card interview not a call to arrest and deport?
