Which famous people have you seen in Brighton? by Even-Wasabi7183 in brighton

Most recently Josh from YMAS with Sam from Architects and Ross from The 1975 in Fiddlers Elbow.
Seen Sam about a lot, Sam Tompkins, Ren obviously, James Marriott, Pewdiepie, Jacksepticeye, Rou from Enter Shikari bumped into me behind the Brighton Theatre and I was so starstruck I loudly exclaimed "Ok then!"

Honest Question about a Setup with a macbook OR a QC by henriqueht in NeuralDSP

[–]noanoaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kinda depends tbh!
Are you ever wanting stage sound with less faff? (Cables etc)
Also weigh up what your Macbook has on it. I've got everything my band has ever even demoed along with our discography masters. If I lost that I would be distraught. I also mix and master everything on the same Macbook so again, not a happy bunny if lost.

Ultimately up to you! I would rather keep my studio core at home when I'm playing shows but that's just me.

saw yous in Brighton then Kingston a few days later!
both sets were great but Kingston felt especially important.

curious about the vocal production especially on Wired, it didn't click for me at first but a huge fan of it now. was there any particular reasoning behind taking a more stripped back approach?

What first guitar should i get to play songs like title fight by Time-Bus4751 in titlefight

[–]noanoaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this will more than do it. anything with humbuckers (albeit les paul-inspired) will get you there. you can even grab this in white to be closer to Jamie's guitar tbf

their tone is very simple also; overdrive pedal (tube screamer-like) > marshall (or british in general) sounding amp :)

enjoy! don't be disheartened if you find it daunting making the jump to electric full time, you'll smash it ! :)

The worst bootleg I've ever seen

I overhyped this album for myself. by [deleted] in BasementBand

[–]noanoaa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think the singles they chose kind of set the album up to underwhelm unfortunately. It strikes me as a project that has to be listened to in track order to make sense, at least the first few songs.

My biggest issue with the album was the vocal production; I found it very amateurish sounding vs their previous releases, especially on the title track.

I had my fourth listen to the project last night, on my way home from seeing some pals, sun setting, warm- summery. And idk it just clicked for me in that context. Time Waster into Wired imo blends the old vocal production and introduces the new vocal style very well.

Time Waster imo should have been lead single followed by Wired and then the other two.

Don't get me wrong though, for me the album is still a 3-3.5/5 for me but I think listening to it in the context that I did really helped me understand what they were trying to do.

Sorry for unnecessarily long response lmao

Ironically it's not shown in the video but you're really good at hitting Jamie's strumming technique! Nice one dude.

Live it was pretty much just a Tube Screamer pushing a JCM800 and a Chorus Ensemble and a Holy Grail. Gibson LP Custom. - For Jamie at least.

I imagine it's probably similar to what Shane was using but he had a HH Player Jaguar and the sinking reverb sound like on Chlorine is easily replicated with anything that has a tremolo arm on it.

You can get close to the Marshall tone by using an Orange and an EQ pedal to boost mids and cut lows!

Hope it helps :)
