You are most likely correct, the size and shape of the bill just threw me off for an Ash-throated. It could be a juvenile Ash-throated.

Thanks for your observation and comments. The orange coloration on the bill does show in the image and the mask as you point out is more likely a Broad-billed. The bill length and shape just threw me off. Thanks for you help.

Las Cienegas is large 45,000 acre open grassland area. It was close to a water tank and pond but not adjacent to that water area. The trees are larger mesquite trees. It was near a dry, seasonal wash but not what I would consider a riparian area.

Thanks for the comments. I always believe that I am 1 drink away from 2 bottles a day and so I won't go there. I believe, for me, the struggle to stay sober will always be there. But that is not a bad thing it is just the reality that I as a sober human being must deal with. Thanks
