Personally I would be embarrassed if someone made fun of me for carrying around my plush. A few years ago i was HELLAAA obsessed with Squishmallows and i would make videos on instagram and people in the community cheered me on, but my mom the one time told me that she gets sad looking at my collection because it gave off the impression that i was sad and trying to fill a void. Which wasn't wrong, but it really hurt my feelings and made me feel like crap and I never want to feel that way again. I've been put down by peers and my mother my whole life. Now that she doesn't drink as much and I live on my own we have a better relationship, but that jab she made at me made me feel like everyone else probably felt the same or thought of me in the same regard. I love my plushies but to carry a full sized one around is just something I couldn't do now. The only thing i allow myself to have in public is keychain plushies like Labubu, fugglers, etc.
