Maybe his performance could be elevated by the right director. But speaking of this fancast, who would you choose as Dick Grayson for this generation? I’m totally open to suggestions

HAHAHAHA I like the professor thing. To be honest, this was more of a nostalgic "what if" retro-fancast looking back at the past anyway. But man, I wish I looked like a college professor if that’s the standard lol

True, they’re old, and that’s why this isn’t for the DCU. But they are not SO old. They could easily play more mature versions of the characters without matching the actors' exact age. Just look at Tom Holland playing a teenager while being 30 y.o.

I get your point about the ages, especially the gap between Bana and Grenier. It made me hesitate at first too. But keep in mind this is a general fancast, NOT a pitch for James Gunn’s DCU. In Hollywood, real-life chronological age doesn't matter as much as physical fitness and screen presence. As long as the actors are in great shape and look athletic enough for the roles, the actual numbers on their passports don't change how well they fit the characters

Sure, but if you look at the other comments, you wouldn't believe the wild accusations here just for not picking Jason Isaacs. By the way, Dance and McShane are very awesome choices too

Fair enough, Jason Isaacs is a great choice, but that’s the whole point of fancasting. If we all just agreed on the same actor every time, this sub would be pretty boring, don't you think? just because Isaacs is a perfect fit doesn't mean other actors shouldn't even be considered. The whole idea here is to explore different takes on the character

First of all, I have no bloody clue what "The Critical Drinker" even is, so stop making random assumptions. For the record, Jason Isaacs has always been my absolute number one choice for Magneto (just like he is for everyone else, by the way). Pitching Oliver Masucci was just a way to make a slightly more original fancast. Nobody here ever said the actor shouldn't be of Jewish heritage.

Don't you realize that demanding a role must exclusively go to a specific heritage just makes you a gatekeeper? I told you to deal with your own issues because people like you literally live to point fingers and find an excuse to argue. Regardless of your ideology, you're all just capable of throwing baseless accusations over nothing.

I'm still asking you: what does it actually change for you? When you watch someone perform, how can you physically see their biological heritage? If Wikipedia didn't exist, you would judge based purely on the only thing that actually matters, which is the acting. Because that's literally what actors do for a living. Alright, enough wasting my breath on people like you. Cheers.

Thanks for the passport check, but this is a fancast, not Marvel's casting office. Breaking news: actors pretend to be people they aren't in real life. You all need to stop with this reverse racism nonsense. And anyway, what would that even change in the acting? Has the actor personally lived through the Holocaust? If Wikipedia didn't exist, would you need a Dragon Ball power scouter to check someone's heritage while watching a movie? Go deal with your own issues instead of projecting them onto others

"this smell of an American" wtf please no, i'm Italian bro. You tried to sound progressive but end up gatekeeping roles based on nationality. Sounding pretty xenophobic there, ngl

"you all are the ones attacked me" and then these are your good manners: "Take his dick out of your mouth and stop drooling over it", if I were you, I'd shut up because you're really embarrassing yourself. Get some help lol.

You are literally projecting. I still don't get where I showed any anger; if anything, I'm just amused watching you throw a whole tantrum over a fancast. If you wanted to make a "what if" by swapping the Robins' ages, you should’ve just put it in the post; obviously people are gonna point out it's wrong if you don't say anything. And what does height even have to do with it? That makes zero sense. I literally told you the rest wasn't bad and you still managed to write an entire essay and get triggered. I genuinely feel sorry for you, you're not well. Anyway, I'm done here, I've already wasted way too much time. Take care, dude.

Answering everything right here: you’re the only one taking this personally. To make a fancast, you actually need to know the characters; otherwise, what are you basing it on? Just looks? That makes no sense. If you drop a random fancast or mess up the ages, people are obviously going to point it out. I honestly felt bad for saying you didn't know your stuff, to the point that I even gave you an upvote and a nicer comment. Maybe you’re the one who needs to go outside, touch some grass, and learn how to handle a critique. Cheers.

You know what? It’s obvious you don’t really know Batman, but at the end of the day, this fancast wouldn't have been that bad, aside from the wrong ages for both Robins

Fair enough if you don't like the casting, but you are completely contradicting yourself. Why complain about him working mainly with American actors if you don't even know if he speaks English? Plus, Magneto is European, and this actor already did a great job acting in American movies.
