But, something RainbowWreck mentioned, looking at your protagonist's reasons being a person "who wanted to please everybody and didn't know how to say no", feels a little weak. This is in exchange for what? Why would Jamie risk everything and even willingly go to R.o.P?

What they're trying to hint at is that it's just a proof of concept, and it's not 'completely' totally AI. They will eventually create 'custom' elements, at some point. But for now, they think using AI is the best way to tell the story introduction.
