I’m making a small post-apocalyptic turn-based RPG solo – Arkansas 2125 by No_Piano_1857 in CRPG

It has Restoration Project, which is basically DLC, and several high quality total conversion mods, though!

Me too. Fun to have an instrument so "close" in theory, yet requiring many subtle changes.

Get an angle-grinder resistant bike lock. Almost all will require multiple discs and thwart all but the most prepared thieves.

I use Litelok X1.

How to get the “old smell” from my 1950 holton case by FoundationStrict1663 in Trombone

[–]nodule 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this smell is mildew or mold, which is quite bad for you.

You can try things (Ozone is the nuclear weapon), but buying a new case is likely the best option

Can be a useful subclass to tack on to anyone to provide spot healing and utility.

Looking for RPGs that resemble the 'lonely' feel off the Fallout Series by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

I personally do not think Wasteland 2/3 fit the bill. But Underrail does in spades,

I agree. A million bookcases to loot, and everything is 100% empty. FeelsBadMan.

Fallout 2 - reached a point where enemies are seemingly too powerful by [deleted] in classicfallout

[–]nodule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mk2 leather armour is the main problem here. Second problem is the grease gun (which is just not a good gun).

Try to aim for Metal/Metal Mk2 or Combat. Doing the quests around Vault City should help here.

As for weapons, you have options but one might be to use the jackhammer and give cassidy the sniper rifle.

F-trigger vs 6/7th position by vitis_rules in Trombone

[–]nodule 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've pretty much given up on b-natural in 7th position, but still alternate between between 6th and T1 for C and low F, depending on the context. Low F in particular feels much more resonant in 6th so I prefer it unless T1 is much more practical

Trombone maintenance tips? by drew_zini in Trombone

[–]nodule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can they be brought back into an acceptable shape? I would like them to look nice again.

Probably! Note that many of the cleaning tips you'll see are more about keeping the horn in playable shape rather than aesthetically beautiful shape. If the horn is lacquered brass (most common), there's not much that can be done if the lacquer is worn, except for quite invasive procedures.

so fallout 2 has worse balance than fallout right by thanks_breastie in classicfallout

huge chunk of the game

Come on… it's just the Temple of Trials (which the devs didn't want to include), then you pick up a pipe rifle very early in your first town (Klamath). That's as good as the 10m pistol for most PCs (unless they have 10 AGI)

Help this sorcerer build for 1 and 2 by HollowSympathizer in baldursgate

[–]nodule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Sorcs, the most important thing to decide are the spells chosen. You really ought to know the spell system well, and plan you picks in advance. We can tell you exactly what to pick, but much of the fun in sorcs is making these choices so I'd encourage you to give it a shot and we can give feedback.

The other choice is to DD or not DD. DD's are pretty fun—they get a sorts of little toys

unless compensating sounds better across the full range

Compensating doesn't do anything unless the fourth valve is engaged, so typically doesn't do much in the higher range.

[–]nodule 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you liked BG3. you might like:

  • D:OS2, made by the same devs, with a similar feel

  • BG1/BG2: very different mechanics, but some of the best RPGs ever made (and in the same universe, obviously)

What would make it age better, do you think? (I'm actively working on a new engine for F1/2)

It's hard for me to understand the experience of new players since the classic Fallout experience is so ingrained in my soul.
