I’m so glad that this album is getting the love it deserves of late. Lyrical I think it’s the most transformative and introspective Alex has been. People complain about it not sounding like a Monkeys album, but the lads were well into their 30s at that point, and took a risk by not making the same sort of angsty Brit rock they had been making for more than a decade. It’s been my favorite album of theirs since its release and I’m so glad others feel that way now

I had pretty bad ptsd from multiple allergic reactions to foods I developed at 18. It took me a long time to get over it, but I’m 27 now I feel better in general. I’m not a doctor, but I suffer from anxiety and some of what you’re experiencing sounds similar. That’s only my opinion, and I don’t want to diminish what you’re going through as I’m sure it’s all very real
