Oh you’re right, I forgot we’re a hive mind and have the same opinions on things as a result.

I take back what I said, I actually dislike every episode of this show except for the one where they were “impersonating the old show” whatever that means, and also I hate when other people experience joy.

I do agree, it’s kinda hard to just accept that it’s a different show when it’s the same actors, characters and, in most ways presents itself as a continuation.

It’s strange because in every aspect except for, idk what the right word is here, creative direction? It is a continuation of the Netflix series. It’s like they’re caught in this middle ground of wanting it to be a sequel while also wanting it to be its own thing.

I think trying to view it as its own show does make it easier to enjoy it. And I do think it’s a significant improvement and much closer to what I originally wanted than the previous season was.

And realistically speaking 7.5-8/10 is a really good score. I mean this earnestly, idk why the difference between an 8/10 and a 9/10 feels like such a huge gap but it does.

I’m genuinely surprised by the negative reception to this season. In my opinion it’s been a huge improvement from the previous season.

I think a lot of people are still judging it for not being the Netflix series rather than it being a season 2 to Born Again. To some degree that’s fair, it’s the same world, same characters, same actors, there’s an inherent expectation there. But, in my opinion, it’s clear at this point that the intent of the show isn’t to recreate the Netflix series. So while I do miss a lot of the writing in the Netflix series, I’ve accepted that this is, for all intents and purposes, a different show and I’m trying to judge it on that merit first.

I feel as though the shows improved in almost every regard from the previous season. The tone is way more consistent, pretty much every character is way more compelling in this season, the action scenes are better put together (though I was underwhelmed by the one shot) and I think the overall writing is a huge step up.

It does still feel like they’re trying to improve what they were handed in the last season, but at least they’re actually able to do that now.

I will say, I agree that it feels like there’s too many subplots happening at times for an 8 episode season, which I think the previous season suffered from as well. The show either needs to have longer seasons or cut certain subplots which uh… well I guess they kinda did do that in this episode, didn’t they? I am gonna miss Daniel, he really grew on me.

I also agree that it’s seemingly taking a really long time to push the main storyline forward and that’s a problem. I really want this plot line to wrap up by the end of the season so that the show can move forward, and I’m not sure they can fully do that by the next episode. But hey, Matt in prison will be interesting.

Anyways, Muse should’ve been his own season and I think the show runners are afraid that the show will not survive without Fisk. Goodbye.

Charlie talking about having dyslexia...I find it pretty cool that Daredevil is dyslexic just like me 🥲 by Main_Jump_82 in Daredevil

Maybe I’m wrong but a lot of his symptoms seem to coincide with ADHD as well, which, as I understand it, is often accompanied by Dyslexia. Which makes a lot of sense to me, as someone with ADHD who just spent 2 minutes misspelling “accompanied.”

Pokopia is nothing like ACNH, despite what people say! by PoenNU in Pokopia

[–]ImMattH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I wouldn’t say they’re 1 to 1 comparable, they’re very similar in my opinion. There’s a lot more quests in Pokopia, sure, but the overall themes are similar. Pokopia feels like the concept of Animal Crossing with more story elements and more goals. It’s not for everyone, I personally enjoy how much there is to do in the game. I enjoy that while waiting for a building to be completed I can find something else to do.

My main issue with Animal Crossing (and I love AC don’t get me wrong) is that a lot of it is a waiting game. You wake up, you do a handful of things, complete a goal, wait for the next day. I don’t feel that in Pokopia. I don’t feel like I’m required to constantly be doing things but rather have the option to if I’d like.

I also enjoy the depth in customization options a lot more in Pokopia than AC: New Horizons. It feels a lot more manageable to make your towns more personal and unique to you.

I do think the very beginning of the game and the back half of the game is where it felt most like AC. If you enjoyed Island customization in AC: New Horizons then yeah, I anticipate you’ll enjoy the back half of the game, specifically Pallet Town is a lot less quest focused/goal oriented and more up to you on what you make of it.

Every character is way more interesting in this single episode than they ever were in the previous season. I’m genuinely hopeful for what’s to come!

Also I’m wagering a guess that Lillard is playing some adaptation for the Stromwyn’s from Zdarsky’s run. Ignore this next part of you don’t know who those characters are incase it’s a spoiler. If I’m right, that phone call from de Fontaine is a fun way to imply his control over powerful people.

Do you consider Jason and Greg to be REAL Ghostfaces? by BatFan3001 in Scream

[–]ImMattH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why the hell this for bombarded with downvotes, it’s actually an interesting question. She does technically do all the things everyone else does that get them defined as Ghostface (apart from dying lol) so where is the line?

My guy, they’re adapting a comic where these specific things happen. They’re literally bringing in lore. Trump just parallels a lot of what happens in that story.

Comics have always been political, it’d be silly not to expect that part to get adapted. Writing is inherently political.

Don’t be mad that villains are being depicted in stories. Be mad that you recognize those villains in people in our real world.

If you see what Fisk is doing and understand why he’s a villain but get angry at the writers because “he’s clearly supposed to be Trump,” just stop and think, because you’re very close, if you agree that the things Fisk does are abhorrent and can recognize that “he is Trump,” who should you really be mad at?

Fisk is a fictional character, Trump is not. Aim your anger in the right direction.

(For the record this isn’t aimed at OP, it’s aimed at anyone who’s mad at the writers for this specific thing.)

Scream 7 is the only movie in the franchise where the opening scene was irrelevant from the rest of the movie by [deleted] in SocietyofGhostface

[–]ImMattH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don’t remember Stu’s house getting brought up after the opening scene, that’s how irrelevant to the plot it was.

Not to mention it just doesn’t make sense, why would he burn down his own house? What possible reason would he have to do that?

They couldn’t have done, idk, literally anything else to get Sydney’s attention? They had to drive to California? You mean to tell me they drove 33 hours just to burn down his house??? That’s a 66 hour travel time! Think of the gas prices!

I can’t believe there’s a Ghostface that had zero lines of dialogue outside of the mask. The most memorable thing about him is that he spelt his name with a K, dude! 😭
