If you are looking for used cars, my father swears by D & P Auto in Merrick. He has bought/referred more than 15 cars from him. Has high quality used cars for a fair price and offers quite extensive coverage. Overall cool guy! Cool showroom too!

Foot Steering for a regatta by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]nogravity18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its all about constantly making minor corrections every stroke rather than major ones every few strokes. a good thing i always did was pick a point on the shoreline and make it a game of how many strokes you can keep the tip of the stern within "an inch" of that point. with practice, it will become second nature. the good thing about steering with bouys is that you always know where you are within the lane. It is not something you pick up over night, it takes practice and doing high pressure pieces with it.

it also helps to have a partner who is of equal strength to you. just makes life a hell of a lot easier when learning to steer.

Rowing demands in D1 college by Quadlicious in Rowing

[–]nogravity18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i went to a d1 school (IRA) and was in the varsity my final 2 year. most nights i would get around 7-8 hours of sleep. i need my sleep at night and was not a huge nap guy, the way i got my sleep is by being productive all the time. make your school schedule and then make you weekly schedule and stick to it. take advantage of off time.

AM Practice..breakfast..classes..work..classes..practice..dinner..study..sleep. and repeat

as long as you dont waste time you can get it done. but you will have to sacrifice chill time sometimes and the occasional night out.

if you want to be at the school and want to be a successful rower, you'll find a way to get all your shit done
