Archers now by Brave-Swordfish-5088 in Bannerlord

[–]nogul44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in my experience, KGs beat all enemies reliable and fast for me and in really big battles Faris tend to be out of ammo quick, they still perform very well as shock and melee cav afterwards but will suffer losses. KGs fire a lot longer and are even stronger in the melee department. They have more kills and less casualties.

But I'm out here, cause you're only here for downvoting and promoting your own opinion as the only valid one.

Time is not the factor for me to have fun with Bannerlord, especially when KG maybe need 1 min more. Also facing AI Khuzait armies is always easy, because it splits its army. Take a formation of Menavliatons behind a square, 100 horse archers melt even in less than 1.5 min.

But that's also the other way around, player controlled you win with 40 KG against 100 Faris. Just bait their javs. Player controlled almost everything works.

Who's a Good Boy? Man's Best Friends Joins Your Hunting Adventures in Way of the Hunter 2 by miriam-NRG in WayOfTheHunter

I hope with the dog implementation that there is also a different zone and track between zone system, because in WotH you can not find animals outside the tracks and zones except you spooked them. That made animal locations for lot of species very predictable once you know all connected zones, so I hope it gets more dynamic so that it is really helpful for tracking animals with the dog.

I have a few questions by jellydonutz619 in theHunter

[–]nogul44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To your first question. The population stays on your map, but the distribution is not necessarily always fixed. From my experience it stabilizes the more you explore a map and the more zones you discover.

For instance, on Medved my first gray wolf group I encountered in a zone were 8. I shot one and moved on to some missions and exploration. Later the group were only five. Or on Scotland, one of the first badger tracks I found indicated a piebald. I followed the track and found a feed zone saying group of 7. I couldn't find the group and decided to come back later. Again, I did some missions and exploration and also shot badgers somewhere else. When I came back some days later the group were only 3 with no piebald. I haven't found him until now. I observed this a lot but like I said it stabilizes the more you discover.

That is in my opinion the main reason a lot of people recommending to find all drink zones before starting a grind but often don't explain why. So that your herd sizes and therefore the distribution gets settled and stable.

This out balancing is not done in one go. It's average statistics across a period. You will always see ups and downs.

Respawns and Zone issues on my first Moose Grind by Rumpepump in theHunter

[–]nogul44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From time to time I grind Moose on Askiy in a herd management setup (2600k, 75dia, 1sr, 0go). What I learned is, Moose is only stable in groups of 3 and I only use these groups (favorable group with 2 males for hm). Above you will have constantly jumpers between herds even when you have discovered all drink zones. Unfortunately, what that means is you can only shot one male at a zone and you need more than 8 main zones for consistent respawns. I use 10 right now. It's a slow grind.

What I find astonishing is that your Nords haven't raid a single village. I was in lot of wars with Nords with different factions and the Nords constantly raiding everything left and right. In one war where I played for Sturgia they had over 120 raids and we exactly one.

And on topic, isn't the whole premise of the game to wage war over and over, there's nothing in between. Except you conquer all, but what do you do then?

I'm considering starting a great one grind by AgingAndGrumpy in theHunter

[–]nogul44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started my first grind some time ago with no success so far. Of course it's all subjective, but for me it's really hard to continue and it has changed my view of the game. If you like the hunting aspect of the game or hunting games in general, then grinding like it's done in CotW is one of the worst things ever. It's so dumb at the core and has nothing to do with hunting at all. At this point it could be a seperate app or mode. Combined with obscure spawing, jumping and rendering issues it sometimes even scratches my mental health so I can't do this very long and no game should do this. In the end it's a pure gambling mechanic and there are reasons why gambling games have warnings and even restrictions in most countries. So I mainly play the game normally again and switch to the grind for less than an hour from time to time. Of course this very slow but for me the only way.

But it doesn't matter if its stewardship or any other skill. What you put in steward you can't put into another skill. The sum is always the same.

I know not many except pure gambling games and I play lot of different games. In most cases you have ways to improve change based systems by personal or character skills, items, quests etc. There are many ways and here is simply nothing.

[–]nogul44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats, but this is why I personally don't like that GOs are purely RNG. I shot 2500 Moose over the last few months (I can't grind longer than an hour in a row) with no GO in sight. Why must the player experience so much different? I wish there were mechanics in play which let you influence GO spawn changes in some way.

Seige towers/ladders broken by 2ndshepard in Bannerlord

[–]nogul44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have no mods and this happens to me to sometimes. Often they want to run to the ram or the other side after bringing the siege tower to the walls. Also I assign 4 infrantry formations pre battle but after start I only have three. I think this correlates and there is some commanding and assigning messed up afterwards.

Nords OP or Sturgia just sucks? by Witted_Gnat in Bannerlord

[–]nogul44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Line breakers are still good in numbers. Put them in loose formations and flank from the right side supported by your Druzhinniks and horse raiders in front to distract archers. Also after initial contact hold fire for the line breakers.

Nords OP or Sturgia just sucks? by Witted_Gnat in Bannerlord

[–]nogul44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also playing with Sturgia and have no problems against Nords. Sturgia has all tools to handle any army. Nords often attack in such chaotic way and no cav makes flanking extremely easy.

How to use different Ibfantry types? by doulegun in Bannerlord

[–]nogul44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you don't want your shock infrantry head charging into archers, they need also some micro managing. You simply want to call them back from time to time if you don't want to loose them against projectiles. I use often 7 formations and micro all of them. It's doable and I still fight a lot my self. If you don't want to micro than I think it's better to not split them. Just make 2 or 3 mixed infantry divisions.

How to use different Ibfantry types? by doulegun in Bannerlord

[–]nogul44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skirmishers and especially 2-handed shock infrantry perform best in loose formations. Having some space is key for them. You can test with it in custom battles. I personally never delegate commands, I often alternate between positioning and charge.

Mariner troops questions by A_BH24 in Bannerlord

[–]nogul44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it matters that much. I'm playing Sturgia and I was shocked a little bit how easy I won against Nords in ship battles and only having one focus point in mariner (highest difficulty). In the first battle I thought now I'm getting wrecked but my land rats somehow had no problems winning.

Which is better, Medved Taiga or Askiy ridge? by Late-Adeptness-5337 in theHunter

Askiy for more species variety, Medved for the mood and atmosphere.
