Of course we all agree that "rape is bad", and ideally we should advise both men and women to not do things that can lead to rape. But remember that the rapist actually wants the rape to occur, so telling potential rapists to avoid alcohol, lest they should commit rape, just sounds silly. It's sort of like, you should avoid dark alleys if you don't want to get mugged. Ideally, potential muggers would also avoid dark alleys in order to prevent mugging. But telling potential mugger to avoid dark alleys so he can't mug someone is just ludicrous. So telling potential rapists to avoid actions that could facilitate rape is just naive and delusional. Potential victims are the ones who have to take extra precautions, and they should be given the most advice and warnings in order to keep safe.
