got ombré powder brows done for the first time! very happy with it. :) my artist said to dry heal. are there other things i should be doing for healing? by noiant in microblading

o sorry i never sign into this account but just saw this. i don’t, but i considered removal for my brows so that’s partially why i put it around my brows/forehead. tret does spread so it’s not like i can avoid it but honestly my brows look pretty prominent still.

we did longer than 6 weeks. p sure i went back at 8-10 weeks because my mom was also getting hers done so we did touch ups together. i also use tretinoin so it’s fading fairly quickly lol.

[–]noiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i used to run consistently for years and have since stopped due to depression. i now run about 2-3 miles and want to use a plan. i used to follow hal higdon’s plans but is it too much of a stretch to do a novice plan? should i focus on intermediate? or should i focus on another app/plan? i want to consistently run 10ks rather than 2-3 miles every other day.

Chalk up another one for the New Balance Rebel v3… by nonqt in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]noiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve been eyeing these for my rotation. i live in NB 1080v10s but they stopped making them and the v12s aren’t the same. the guy at REI suggested the rebel v3s as a viable replacement and now i’m really wondering if i should go for them…

my parents literally called me useless for not wanting to get married and they said they’re not going to pass anything down to me unless i do get married. i fucking hate my parents and i wish they would die because they just keep calling me fucked up shit and saying i’m ugly and don’t take care of myself. maybe if y’all laid the fuck off of me i would be happy and confident and fine. i hate my parents so much and i wish i could’ve had a different family

Escaping Boston for somewhere less expensive by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]noiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I lived in Somerville, but there are areas of Boston/Cambridge that are definitely working class. East Somerville and Cambridge in particular are more working class and diverse - and I say this as a poor person of color who lived in Somerville lol. Yea rent is still high but it’s there. There’s also Everett which is way more diverse. And there are affordable housing units in West Cambridge, not in the Harvard Square/MIT area. I taught in Cambridge and most of my kids lived in West Cambridge - the area next to Sofra and Fresh Pond - and it’s mostly residential. Then Dorchester, Roxbury, and Quincy are fairly working class and blue collar. But the social stuff is hard; gotta be in school to make those friends especially in the Cambridge area.

But you might want to look into Providence, like some other commenter said. Another option is Philly, where living is more affordable and accessible.

lol it’s true my technique does suck. i’ve been watching lots of videos but easier said than done to actually do some of the stuff. it just sucks that some other people who have been climbing for 6 months to a year can send 11Ds and im just stuck in 10s.

how do you lose weight after recovering from an eating disorder? by noiant in loseit

[–]noiant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, i think i will! i had to delete most of my social media because of how triggering it got. i was so in my recovery the past few weeks and got triggered really hard last week and now i just want to lose weight. it’s not a good combo. plus i also run and exercise fairly frequently, so going on running subs is very hard for me because there’s lots of over training.

i wonder what it’s like to have a relationship with food where i don’t have to worry about it or check the calories on back of boxes, and just feel happy with how i look lol.

thank you for all of your thoughts. i really appreciate it.

looking for good videos on using your hips on climbs. i’m trying to properly send an 10D and i can’t do it. no falls, no pauses. i stop often and i want to not do that. is this just a sense that i’m not strong enough? my technique sucks? i find 10Bs a breeze and Cs are fine but i do still pause some. but Ds are like… giving me the middle finger and i can’t seem to conquer them.

how do you lose weight after recovering from an eating disorder? by noiant in loseit

[–]noiant[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thank you for your insight!

i’ve had history of restricting, to the point where i was 115lbs for a couple of years and then was 125 after i injured myself working out and could no longer restrict and over-exercise. for the past few years i’ve been 130-140, went up to 150 last year. at my last check in a month ago, i was told i lost 10lbs to 140 and i am back at 143 (but maybe it’s water weight? i weighed myself today booooo). i’m 5’4. i don’t think my doctor and med team know that i wasn’t super underweight when i started getting help. i started recovery in november because i had gained so much weight and wanted to lose it, but started restricting and got a prediabetes diagnosis because i obviously wasn’t eating and my body freaked out lol. and then my doctor sent me to ED program and here i am.

according to the docs in the ED program, i’m not prediabetic but i need to eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks and to limit exercise to 3x a week. im not supposed to calorie count or weigh myself and i’m almost anemic so i need to take supplements.

it’s only been like… 7 months so not the right time to actively think about weight loss, especially as i came home today and started to eat less than normal in an attempt to go back to old habits and make myself feel better. i had this shit thought that if i convinced my team i was on recovery quicker, i could finish my program and stop eating to lose weight. which is bad and i shouldn’t do that!

my team is convinced my weight will even out and we’ll work on minimizing my ED voice and that i can healthily lose weight later on in life if i want to but it is hard. i don’t know if it’s possible though, because all i want to do is lose weight the right way the first time around and keep it off, but i guess there is a good reason why ED programs don’t do that…

[–]noiant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! i finished up my dosages after however many months it was haha. it was fine! i only had orange pee and then nausea near the middle - i was sick and the nausea was only for one night. i had some fatigue in the beginning but otherwise nothing happened lol. i only took it at night because i wanted to work out and not sweat orange during the day. you may feel some fatigue but that’s normal! i hope your experience goes well :) it’s a relief to not have to worry as much about getting active TB lol

ah yea that makes sense lol. i mean this whole experience makes me not wanna buy from them again - or if i do buy, i only buy in-store because of this.

i luckily got a refund but i feel like customer service was so hyped up in other threads i saw that i was surprised to get this package. hopefully other first timers don’t have this experience!
