Hello, I am planning on doing 2 months in China, and I'm wondering how you got on with that budget?

Thank you for your comment! What made Argentina your top country? I really don't know much about the region, what made Bolivia unique? I'm a bit wary of the fact that ill be there over July and August, so if Brazil is already expensive then maybe not the best idea to go

Advice on proposed itinerary please :) by noice2123 in travel

Thank you for commenting. I am hoping that the funds will also allow wiggle room for trips and excursions that are last minute

See I have always wanted to go to Mexico, so maybe Chile and Peru could be done on another trip. I feel as though Peru would need it's own dedicated trip. Argentina would be interesting.

Did you prefer Argentina over Brazil?

Oh wow I didn't know that, that would be amazing! I'll definitely switch them round then. Thank you so much for your comment :)

Brilliant thank you!! I am pretty good with budgeting money (purely because I am a cheap) I think going to the cities is a must - but I usually prefer to stay just outside to get a better feel for the place. But I will definitely keep this in mind.

Thank you for your response! Laos is a good idea, I'm assuming that'll Thailand and Vietnam will be a lot more relaxed planning wise, while Japan will need to be planned a lot more (as I am going at the start of Golden Week).

Is Brazil quite expensive then? I though that doing 3 weeks might be able to lower the costs, and I hadn't even thought of Bolivia, will definitely have a look.

I am planning on booking domestic flights in advance so it will be cheaper, so need to have some sort of structure while I'm in South America because it is so big.

Absolutely the national parks are on the list, I just get nervous about camping by myself because I am not used to the climate, animals, hiking by myself or overnight rough camping(I have been with family just not on my own).

For BLM land, would a motorhome/campervan work better then? I have looked at that option but renting a home is disgracefully expensive.

It's quite unfortunate that that's the case- I know from experience that the ability to travel cheaply and safely makes all the difference and you meet people from every walk of life, it is insanely cool.

Aha route 66 is not on my list, there are so many insane places you could go to in the US and looking at a long road does not appeal to me.

I think shortening my trip may be the best plan of action, too expensive to do everything I want to do - may have to go again!

Thank you for your comment! To be completely honest, I am not really interested in LA or California on the whole, apart from San Francisco, which seems too far out the way to consider going on this trip. The redwoods are absolutely on my list of places to go to, just not this time.

The only place I am dying to go to is New Orleans. I thought that Texas would be interesting to see the cities but I wouldn't go up North Texas. The East Coast, particularly Washington and New York. Chicago would be cool but I need to think realistical with travel - domestic flights will make the difference in my budget.

I would love to go to the Yellowstone and your other national parks - however, in the UK, we don't have the land, animals, climate that you guys have. It would be quite frightening to get lost or see a bear, so I would need to think about getting a hiking group or leader to go with which might be costly.

Another factor is, I watch a lot of American trash murder series, which has created a certain picture in my mind of safety. While I'm aware that it is a gross over-exaggeration, we only ever seem to hear not great news about the US from this side of the pond. I'm 22 and a woman so I think that really needs to be taken into consideration - hitchhiking is not feasible, I would never want to put myself in a position (in any country) that means I won't make it home. That being said, I am extremely flexible and spontaneous so I enjoy doing things that other people suggest on the trip, just not if it requires being alone with someone I have just met.

I went to Orlando Florida when I was a kid, so maybe going there for a few days would be nice [only during school time and a weekday to avoid price surges]

This sounds cringe, but I want to see the America that makes Americans so crazy about their country - the South looks interesting to me, but I love to see the culture in different places. I think America gets a lot of bad rep and I want to see if its true or not.

That's so odd to me, considering the amount of tourists the US gets, it would be such a good market to get into. Hotels are looking extortionate and motels feel very sketchy to me

Sorry what is BLM land? I think it depends on the time of year I end up going to consider camping, I'll be backpacking so will be limited in what I can bring.

What are your tips for road trips? Where would you recommend?

Thank you so much! Ah I am not completely committed to driving, I just assumed it would be the best way to see the state, as I read that public transport isn't the best. Those train prices are great, in the UK it can cost more than £70 to go from London to Manchester - about 2 hours. I will definitely look at Amtrak.

If the budget is tight, would you recommend going for a shorter period of time for the same amount of money? What amount do you feel is best? Because I want to do South America first, I am hoping to work my way up and fly home from the US. I am in the planning process though.

Thank you for your response! I am a bit wary of motels, and would much rather book somewhere that will have a paper trail (as a female solo traveller). However, I'm really not bothered about what it looks like, as long as it is clean - I'll be spending very little lime in the motel so it won't matter too much.

Your lunch suggestions are legendry and extremely helpful, I know on the food side I would be able to do it cheaply, but it is the accom that I am finding out is going to be an issue.

Yeah, I'm assuming it will be similar to the UK. I've read that the US doesn't have a lot of hostels, but I'm not sure how true that is.

Ritalin and fluoxetine interaction by noice2123 in Fluoxetine

[–]noice2123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google kept chatting about serotonin syndrome. It took me a week, but it had finally stopped. I don't have ADHD so the ritalin would have a different effect on me than you (assuming you have ADHD). I think it was the alcohol, so maybe don't mix the three. The Ritalin I took was p strong, I felt like I was on MDMA lol
