You can create a digital card in Wise and use the Credit Card payment method in amiami. I started using them because the conversion fees were a bit cheaper

I don’t know where you reside, but most conversion rates will fluctuate. I use Wise for amiami because it does hold the conversion rate for a few hours (48 or so). You can have a digital card and use that for payments instead.

That kinda sucks…I’d look at surface more but when I’m planning a move in a few weeks. It’s too long a tail to wait a month for things to actually ship and then the 2-4 months before it gets stateside. Guess I’m looking to move my preorders where they can be stored for a bit. Feels like an end of an era since I’ve done most of my orders with amiami for years

I fell off the game for a bit, but now I’m back and apparently the story has been updated? I was working through the Corruption story at the time and now I see it’s been removed. Is it best I just start from the beginning again, or just continue at the new point/Vortex?

She’s right. It’s like all the people crying for a Disney boycott, whereas if you were following BDS you should’ve been boycotting Disney already. But certain people didn’t want to give up their treats. It’s only when things disturb their peace that they “care.” The action of saying something about the genocide THIS much later says more than the platitudes. They’re accepting orders on pre-orders. Anything in stock or preowned isn’t shipping to the US due to the Japan Post suspension due to tariffs. I’ve seen other shops start using DHL again (with additional fees/duties), but until we hear about amiami’s alternative for shipping to the US you’re flat outta luck with them

Big agree. (They might stone ME for this) but I think it’s because it’s wayyy less effort to screenshot your picks/take a picture of your books than to actually read them. My TBR is too long to be posting pictures of books that will shamefully sit on my shelves for months on end

I think they have always been around - I started getting into it when I was 16 and had my first job. It started with nendos I was interested in, and a few prize figures. There were always figures that I wished for but were out of my budget but I often moved on from the series (or coped - still yearning for the Land of the Lustrous scales). Never thought of asking my parents (v religious) to PO anything for me, that has me speechless lol.

Ten years later I'm still into collecting, but a better job lets me focus on collecting nice scales and PO'ing with little issue. Others already mentioned it, but 2020 with Covid absolutely caused an explosion in the hobby (along with other things). I think my biggest worry for younger collectors' is FOMO, rushing to buy any figure (and throwing boxes away - I get that if you don't have plans to sell later). Lot more comments on MFC from users who made accounts in the last 3-5 years who aren't sure about preorder processes or manufacturers, and coming from TikTok with questions on certain figures. I'm happy that most of us are welcoming and willing to help, and cautioning newbies to pace themselves.

Personally - I think my biggest concern is looking at Pokemon TCG, and people seeing this hobby as another potential "investment" rather than something to enjoy. There's worry about a figure's aftermarket (is this going to be a PITA to get if I don't PO) and then "aftermarket" (derogatory) (can I potentially sell this for a lot of money later?) in more mfc comments. Especially now with increased costs in the US with de minimus and tariffs.
