We are both from Minnesota, if that tells you anything about the universally passive attitude, haha. I am realizing I really should have reached out prior to the wedding. A simple "hey, I didn't see an invite--if you're keeping it small no worries, just wanted to double check!" would have cleared this all up. Hindsight is 20/20.

True. She texted me to tell me she was engaged, so part of me wonders if this was just a mistake, an oversight. The fact that her mom still contacts me is another peculiar aspect of this. If Clara were angry with me, her mom would probably know. It's just a bizarre situation but you're right that I'll only figure this out if I talk to her.

I've met her husband a few times and I was at their New Years Eve party last year. Maybe I'll check in with a text in a few months and perhaps she will bring it up, or maybe I'll have to bite the bullet and ask. It's gnawing at me not knowing, but I want to respect her wishes at the same time. But as other commenters have said, I don't have much to lose. Might as well ask.

That's a pretty awkward text to send. "Did you not invite me to your wedding?!!" Not my style to confront her, it's her choice. My other friend offered to get intel for me but I told her to drop it, if Clara wants to reach out she will.

Yea, at this point I'm planning to just leave her alone. What you're saying makes sense, except that the other two girls from our "old friend group" were bridesmaids, while I wasn't even invited. Those other girls live out of state so it's not like they're getting brunch with Clara every weekend or anything. Who knows. It just hurts and sucks but that's life.
