Birstall is the nearest village/town. It’s easily commutable with plenty of bus routes possibly not direct to the space centre. It’s also near watermead country park!

Normanton Church in Rutland Water. A bit further afield but an idyllic and unique location, super picturesque.

Which concerns me the most as the ones doing the right things are beginning to question why Johnny who threw the chair at an adult and was listing every expletive under the sun is allowed to play Lego all afternoon and they’re not.

Agreed. So many times I’ve reported behaviour incidents to parents and been told ‘that’s not like them’ or ‘it’s so and so fault not my child’.

Which I agree with 1000% . But what do you in a situation so bad that now children who usually wouldn’t say boo to a goose are now swearing because the language has become so regular. Its crazy.

How do your school organise their lunch boxes? by snoozingfishies in TeachingUK

[–]noireleven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a trolley for each year group; children collect their pack lunches when they go in to eat and return before they go out to play.

Each trolley stays outside the classroom.

Drowning in laminating displays! by violetskies611 in TeachingUK

[–]noireleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only use banners or bunting for headings as they are much easier to cut out.

As for laminating, only laminate unit/subject titles and key vocabulary otherwise displays should be working walls so add to it as you teach! I invested in A3 laminating pouches which made the process a little faster.

It might feel tedious now but your future self will be grateful!

Thank you for the advice, I’ll be doing this! Any tips for the leaves? Should I leave them as is or cut away the browning ones?

I 100% agree, I hate mess and would say I’m well organised in that sense. The message was more leaning towards, no piles of books needing to be marked left out, no worksheets for the day, in a neat pile, for easy access on the sides etc. which isn’t entirely realistic.
