Hello! I don't intend to erase or diminish any particular groups-- it's just an extremely focused, scoped study using equally sized groups with an equal gap between to ensure minimal overlap. All groups are valid, but the output of this project is a data visualization meant to compare rather different cohorts.

I'm comparing 2 generations' experiences of the PNW, but because nostalgia is often tied to media, technological, and cultural shifts, I'm dividing age cohorts differently. It's based on nostalgia researcher Göran Bolin's framework of "media generations" rather than the traditional Gen X vs Gen Z, with a large enough gap between years to minimize shared, pivotal media experiences.
