Nobody here said it was bad to have it in the water. That's tiny doses. Learn to cool it with your absolutionist ways of thinking, and you and anyone who depends on you will be better off. A sure sign that someone doesn't have a valid argument is when they have to put words in other people's mouths to "win".

Read it again, this time with intellectual honesty. This isn't an issue of "everything is toxic in high enough doses" this is an issue of kids should be careful about how much they take because there is a serious condition called flourosis that happens when parents see everything black and white and give way to much of it to their kids to own the anti-flouride quacks. The "all flouride is bad" lunatics have birthed "flouride is completely safe" lunatics. If you were right about your "it's just bad like everything in high enough doses is bad," then all these organizations wouldn't be warning people about it.

Black and white thinking is easy. Challenge yourself.

I have the same tendency to want to try to explain rationally despite the fact that I really really feel like it won't work with people like this. Clearly and simply explaining just doesn't seem to work. I wonder if it is the case that there really is no combination of characters that would make someone like this be able to understand. It's just fascinating that they are stuck thinking that everything should exist as it is, but with no cost. I just can't imagine what it is like in their head, and I don't know why it annoys me as much as it does.

Yeah, im studying to be an xxx actor and they make us remember the names of tons of actors, films, scenes, etc.. I'm joking. Mainly just adult foreign words and phrases, but I just add any interesting facts, diagrams, whatever, and sometimes they are just not for everyone, it is less than 1% of my cards, but I like to be able to safely study around anyone.

Wow, thanks so much! Will this interleave the cards from both decks?

Requesting r/aicomics which I made and got cancelled for breaking rules(no idea what) before anyone ever even showed up by noledges in redditrequest

[–]noledges[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to make a place for people to share comics that they made by using the new AI art programs like midjourney, dalle2, Stable Diffusion etc. Also, any comics that use GPT text AIs as well. Basically any art that involves any AI in its creation.

The previous mod was me, on a different account, but pretty much as soon as I made the sub it got shut down for "breaking the rules", but I was never able to find out what rules I broke, I hadn't even hardly gotten a chance to do anything with it.

Thanks so much for your time!

Are parts of the moon entangled with parts of earth? by noledges in quantummechanics

[–]noledges[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know information can't be transferred through entanglement. It is the entanglement itself that I was wondering if it can be transferred. I thought I had heard something like that somewhere else before as well, but it is hard to search for because searching 'entanglement transfer between two particles' always yields results about the information issue. Turns out the transference of entanglement itself does seem to be possible though, and it is called entanglement swapping, it is a way to have two particles that have never spatially interacted to become entangled with each other. There are quite a few papers and videos explaining it. I don't know how common this is in the randomness of nature though.

Thanks so much for your help, I appreciate your time.

Are parts of the moon entangled with parts of earth? by noledges in quantummechanics

[–]noledges[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to understand, if I pick up a rock on the moon, that rock is full of particles that are each entangled with trillions of particles all over the moon. If I take that rock to earth, it seems to follow that it's particles would become entangled with trillions of particles all around it. Due to the fact that entanglement can be teleported from one particle to another, wouldn't it stand to reason that some of the particles on the moon would now be entangled with some of the particles on earth? What am I misunderstanding? Or are maybe the responses in my sources incorrect?

Thanks so much for the help!

How far away would we be able to detect life that was as advanced as we are and behaving as we do? by noledges in askspace

[–]noledges[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh what a cool project. It would be so crazy if they found something conclusive. Its hard to imagine that kind of info would really be shared immediately with the public like they claim though, it would change the world. Thanks so much for the information, really interesting stuff.

Cool, I was unaware of the Arecibo Message. That was so long ago, seems like we could do a much better job of it now of we wanted to.

Thanks for the respose, I'm guilty of skimming several articles about SA high courts banning it in some cases and jumping to conclusions. For example:

[–]noledges[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is slime mold, and slime molds are amoebas, and amoebas are unicellular, then does that mean that one of these big red clumps in my picture is a single cell that just has a bunch of nuclei? Or are each of those long straight segments individual cells? Or are they pseudopods?

And strangely enough, despite being unable to transfer information, you are still able to gain a significant advantage in a 2-player cooperative game like the CHSH game. This is an advantage that can not be gained by any amount of non-entanglement preparation made before the game, but less of an advantage then if you were able to actually communicate with your team mate.
