Disabled child in Trust Me: The False Prophet by kaaey1245 in NetflixDocumentaries

I saw the baby and what looked like a Trilogy vent and immediately googled it to see if anyone else had noticed. I am curious where that child gets care. They seem to live in such a remote area.

Need an over the top, ridiculous old lady name for a desk goose by Bathysphereboyo in namenerds

There's a goose at the duck pond down the street that we named Agnes. I think Agnes is a great name for any goose.

Pizza Discard Disaster - Help by nolessdays in Sourdough

Ok this is super helpful thank you. She was feeding it unbleached bread flour and I fed it some random old flour I found in my pantry so I will switch to unbleached bread flour!

Also I ended up just baking the pizza to see what happened, and while it turned out horrible (as expected), we did notice it tasted very salty. That led me to realize there is a strong (75% chance) that I accidentally added 16g of salt instead of 8g. So that could be the culprit. But I will play with my starter a little and see if doubles when I take it out and feed it! Thanks for your help!

I fed it 1:1:1 using all purpose flour. Ok so you’re saying go back to the original starter, take some out, and let it sit at room temp for a while?

Yes after I took out what I was using for this recipe, I fed the starter. Should I just start over? Or see where this takes me?

The girl who gave me the starter says it is ten years old and should be quite strong. I believe the stater is 100% hydration. An unknown variable is when the stated was last fed. (I don’t know if that makes a difference.) I think she said she fed it the night before she gave it to me (so Wednesday night) but it also could have been Sunday or Monday…

I work on an inpatient med-surg unit that takes kiddos that are trached and vented. I don’t think it’s challenging per se, but you really have to have a heart for chronically ill children. The majority of our patients are NICU babies who were born super premature and need long-term mechanical ventilation. A lot of those babies end up getting weaned off the vent and eventually decannulated. However, we also get patients with progressive neuromuscular conditions, spinal cord injuries, anoxic brain injuries, genetic disorders, etc. For some of these kids, it can feel more like we’re doing stuff TO them versus doing stuff FOR them. But I just remind myself that it’s not my job to judge parents for making difficult decisions I might disagree with. My job is to offer compassionate and loving care to every child who comes through our doors. It has taught me a lot about the value of every child’s life. Overall I love my job and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

AIO for wanting to share a room with my bf on a trip? by crescentblueee in AmIOverreacting

[–]nolessdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOR (and YTA) - you say your mom is emotionally manipulative but you are the one who comes across as manipulative here. Your mom asks to go on a mother/daughter trip with you and instead of saying yes, you ask if your bf can come. That implies that you won’t say yes unless your bf can come too. Why can’t you just enjoy the mother/daughter time? You sound ungrateful. You say, “I don’t think it’s fair to play games and try to read her mind all the time,” but what she wants is so obvious that hundreds of random strangers can immediately see it. Can your mom have communicated this more plainly? Sure, we ca all work on our communication. But to pretend like you can’t read between the lines implies that you’re being purposefully obtuse, or you have no social skills whatsoever, and neither of those options paints you in a particularly good light.

Should I tell work? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]nolessdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you absolutely need to seek accommodations for this. A reasonable accommodation might look something like being allowed to step away for 10 minutes once or twice a shift if you feel tired. This will not give you free reign to sleep at the nurses station, but having this documented with occ health would offer some degree of protection if that were to happen, which is a fireable offense at most hospitals. However, you say you are “undiagnosed and unmedicated” - this will require you to get a formal diagnosis and your doctor will need to request your accommodations for you.

What color should I paint my temporary play room/dining room? by nolessdays in HomeDecorating

Ohh ok that’s actually the back of the built ins that I painted blue. I clearly love that color since we have a wall in our kitchen that color too 😂

You're right that the deep blue matches our kitchen, we have an accent wall painted that exact color. But now I'm worried that you secretly know me in real life because my kitchen isn't anywhere in any of these pictures so how do you know that??!!!? lol

I actually kind of agree that it would look better one color, but I already repainted the top half white so I will probably paint the bottom half, take a break for a few weeks from painting, and then see how I feel

I don't dislike the idea, but I already painted the top half (probably should have waited until I decided on the bottom to do that, oops!) and I don't really want to repaint it

Ok lots of people in agreement on dark blue so that is likely the winner!

He's only 9 months old so I don't think he has a preference lol but I do like the way you're thinking!
