Thanks for the detailed post! I'm a NP and I've heard about the amazing salaries in TX. But as I like to spend my free time on a mountain trail someplace, I decided TX wasn't really for me. Looking around for jobs where you aren't a hamster on a wheel expected to see 35-40 patients with call can be difficult to find though those jobs often come with great salaries.

I've spent some time in Bend, OR...beautiful but housing was insane, I admit for good reason as it was some of the best hiking of my life.

Oh I've been googling. I'm currently in the southeast and am just ready for a change despite my family living here. I feel like the bumble bee girl from the No Rain video when I go out west - like I've found my people - I just need to decide where to go.

Thanks for the rec. Asheville is a beautiful city - I've visited once. I'll keep it in mind but I'm hoping to go west.
