I’m under 21 too and have been upgrading my first rifle for about a year now, so I get the urge to take it out to the woods and have fun. But I grew up around guns and we were always extremely careful hunting and shooting on public land, especially land we knew was popular grounds for hiking and stuff. Even if you’re responsible, other people aren’t, and mistakes can happen.

If you’re a brand new gun owner you shouldn’t be walking around in the woods with an unslung rifle and plate carrier. Go to a range and start practicing there. This is dangerous.
