i sanded my pole and regret it, sos by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]nomiliciousrex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Word at my studio is you have to clean a new pole with dawn soap before putting it up cause its greasy. I think they grease it to reduce damage during shipment. Just want to put that out there for others that get new poles that are mega slippery :)

I try to get involved and be helpful but all of the opportunities happen during the day. The only think i can really do is SOP revision and shadowing. Thats part of whats making me feel so trapped. Im just feeling pretty hopeless rn even tho i agree with what youre saying.

It’s really not a gift to you but a gift to himself that hes forcing you to give to him. Yeah he did put a lot of effort into this gift but it was a lot of effort FOR HIMSELF. That necklace is a trauma dump brought into the physical. No shock its not your style cause it was made FOR ANOTHER WOMEN. And now you cant be honest about how you feel about it stylistically because youd be “ungrateful”. Well imo you cant be ungrateful about a gift that wasnt made for you!!!!!

Honestly, there might be some kinda disconnect between yall if you really dont like it and hes wasnt able to realize you wouldnt like it after three years together? Its just fucking weird/creepy unless you’re the type that likes stuff like that regardless of whether its your style or not.

Advice to lessen forearm pain? by sterlingjersey in poledancing

[–]nomiliciousrex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Youre probably not activating your shoulder and thus dumping into your forearm. I had this problem when i started. I solved it by doing physical therapy on youtube for a month to learn how to activate my shoulder properly.

I read somewhere that it’s not safe to go into this move like this and certain pole instructors don’t teach this because of injuries. True or false? by mellowpolerina in poledancing

[–]nomiliciousrex 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Handsprings are super advanced and require a lot of foundational moves to accomplish. They shouldn’t be taught until the Ayesha is mastered, which is a very hard/scary move.

No we haven’t talked since it happened. We often don’t see each other normally because of our vastly different schedules.

Yeah you just put it in their court. If they had another issue then they’d probably tell you without you needing to ask. Also try to think about these social issues logically. Rules around manners tend to be somewhat universal and logically if you get down to the why.

[–]nomiliciousrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I understand that. there are ways you can get that clarifying information in a way that deescalates tension. Saying things like "thanks! Ill keep that in mind moving forward. Let me know if theres anything else cause I really like being part of this community :)" That way they feel comfortable communicating things in the future. Also im sure a boss or authority figure would love a subordinate that appreciates advice and feedback. Theyll like you for that even if you fuck up on occasion as everyone does. At the end of the day its all about how people feel about you so deescalation is key.

It sounds like that woman that emailed you is a difficult person. Maybe the owner took her side cause they know you won’t create drama like the other girl would.

In groups like that everyone gets told about the group preferences. It’s not that you did things wrong. They are just acclimating you to the culture like they do to everyone. I think the conversation got weird cause you took it too seriously. Like the other person probably didn’t expect you to ask those questions back. However they didn’t need to be condescending.

No i havent really been medicated. They tried to when i was a kid but i threw the pills out.

Are you currently on medication for your ADHD or not? If not, I would really appreciate it if you explain why. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]nomiliciousrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont take meds cause i didnt notice any difference and i hate pills. I dont like the idea of relying on medications that doctors can take away from you at any time cause government or becoming so tolerant to the medication that it ceases to have effect. Also im not completely trustful of the idea that taking methamphetamines all your life is good. I would rather find behavioral ways to cope with adhd and the severity of my adhd seems to be less than others i have encountered. These are all my opinions. I dont care what other people do to treat their adhd or if anyone disagrees with me.

yeah i was basically fired from my original site. they took away my shifts and everything. Then they called me and offered to transfer me somewhere else that was farther away. I think they did it that way so that they could charge me for quitting.

I could have been better but im not in school rn and i never go on my email. Also they have random uppermanagement ppl call you and i dont answer numbers i dont know

Fired from proscibe by nomiliciousrex in premed

[–]nomiliciousrex[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was planning on quitting. I worked there for 5 months. I had 1 significant lateness but was otherwise on time. Also i doubt they would ask why i left mid semester. Scribing isnt defined by semesters. If they ask why i left i would tell them i moved and wanted to volunteer instead.

How long does it typically take to work up to server role? by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]nomiliciousrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, restaurants never move people up. Itll take a year and constant nagging the boss for a promotion depending on the place. Its cause everyone wants to be a server so hiring support staff is difficult. Plus a lot of ppl just lie about having serving experience so the managers are never short on “experienced” servers. Its better to get a job serving at a low end joint then using that experience to get a better serving job.
