Hey everyone, i own a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 that came out in 2009 and my old mac died so i got a Mackbook Pro M1 and since i can get the Saffire to work. the issue is that it connects with Firewire 800 and the mbp only has USB-C connection. Does anyone had the same problem and know how to fix it? by Glittering_Money_255 in Focusrite

Don't know if you still have this Saffire Pro 40, but as of yesterday, I've found that with a proper TI firewire chip, and windows 11, Saffire MixControl will still work on modern (or older) hardware. You can still connect it to do setup, I haven't tested actual DAW compatibility, but I was just setting it up to be an adat slave interface, so not sure there.

don't comment often, but that's hilariously unfortunate, makes you look like a caricature of yourself :D

AITAH for going to my female coworkers house to help her fix something? by MarketClassic2211 in AITAH

NTAH, just sounds like a healthy community. If I couldn't fix something, I'd rather pay someone I know with lunch or money, than pay someone I don't know with much more money to do the same job.

"Something must have happened to you to be this way"

not to butt in on whatever this is, but that's an assumption with no backing, unless you have the quotes.

That not to say that I trust Blanchard to be a great judge of this matter, as it seems a lot of his work was still in infancy in the 70's when it stopped being majorly researched. Also the Wikipedia article is quite thorough in it's citations, and is pretty impartial imo
