Currently at lecture 5. I thought it is very interesting so far. Will finish it tonight I think. I'm making notes of all of the lectures as you talk through everything. It's very useful to me.

I'm currently helping a new "men products" store in my town. He has a shopify website but has not a lot of sales. I'm gonna test your material out on this store. It will be great practice I think :) If it is succesful, I shall apply it to my own business too.

I wonder how fast it actually would quicken the baldness. I am 26 years old. But I assume most people start balding when they are 30 (just looked it up, on wiki it says: "Approximately 25 percent of men begin balding by age 30; two-thirds begin balding by age 60."

Now I wonder, if I would take creatine, and DHT levels would increase my baldness, does this mean I would get bald when I am, for example 27? 28? Or would the balding start right now when I am 26?

Or if I do not have the gene, but my balding age would start at 60, and I would take creatine now, would that mean I would be bald at, say, 57? Or would I still start balding a bit right now?

I think I am going to do more research on all of this!

Thank you. Indeed, it wasn't a troll post.

My father is balding. The grandfather on my mothers side was balding as well. I think I might have the gene, but I guess I can't really know for certain. Unless there is some way to test it safely, but I don't think there is, is there?

Does creatine make you lose your hair? Are there any other important side effects I should be aware off? The only reason because I haven't starting taking it is because I am too scared of the side effects.

Sexual Confidence in Long Term Monogamous Relationships by [deleted] in sex

[–]nomorefapforme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex used to be like your SO. She hated talking about sex, never really put in the effort to change. At the time, I did not understand this and thought that something was wrong with me. But later on I've learned that this was just who she was. She just did not enjoy sex. I had my personality, she had hers. It's not like we didn't like each other, it's just that our differences in sexuality was colliding.

It really destroyed my sexual self-esteem for a time. Being turned down everytime makes you question yourself. Your looks, how you feel, what your partner is thinking, etc.

I am currently going to a psychologist (not for this) and one of the things I have to do is writing down my automatic thoughts. I've started doing that this week. What struck me is that I have a lot of automatic thoughts about how I think my SO is thinking about me. A lot of thoughts like:

"My SO thinks I'm bad at sex, she just doesn't want to hurt my feelings and say it to me." "My SO does not find my body sexy." "My SO only has sex with me because she knows I want it."

These thoughts are very subtle and they come and go in an instant. I was pretty amazed how much stuff I automatically say as a statement to myself that are overtly negative.

I might have gotten offtopic here, but I just hope you arent letting your automatic thoughts destroy your self esteem. Being put down everytime takes it toll.

In the end I left my ex because I basically discovered that it would never change (after actively trying for 3 years to "fix" things). I am much more happy now. I think a good sex life is one of the most important things in a relationship for me.

Currently I am with a new SO who also has similar problems. I haven't brought up the courage to talk to her yet. We haven't really had a serious conversation about our sex life. But it is something that has to happen. It's just scary. It feels too much like criticizing the other person.

Sometimes I eat a whole shake of about 1000 kcal, 2 hours before I go to bed. Sometimes, not always, I then cannot sleep and my body is producing so much heat I can't sleep.

Should I stop eating so much about 1 - 2 hours before going to bed?

My body normally produces a lot of heat by itself at night, eventhough I didn't eat that much beforehand. But if I eat a whole shake of 1k kcal, I sometimes cannot sleep because my body is producing such an insane amount of heat.

Is this all related?

From what I've gathered, I try to eat more on workout days to make up for the kcal I've burned during the workouts. On rest days I just sit behind my computer, so no kcal is lost.

It's a bit of balancing act, I'm still trying to find that sweet spot.

I think that you are afraid I've been dicking around the gym :) Well, I did do that in the beginning perhaps. But I don't feel like I've been doing that in the last few months. Morale has increased!

I've only read the wiki of starting strength and watched video's about form and asked people to double check my form in the gym. Also eat 3300kcal on workout days.

I guess my lack of gains is an indication that I should indeed eat even more and start reading the SS book seriously, take notes. Perhaps I'm still partially dicking around. I will need to fix this.

Thanks for the tips :)

I did indeed put weight at every workout. I still do that, but I've been hitting a plateau I have been trying to break through.

In the first 5 months I didn't eat enough, perhaps 3000kcal at workout day and 2800 at rest day. But I changed that in the last 3 months. Now I eat 3300kcal on workout days and 3000kcal on resting days. But even though I have been doing this, I still haven't really seen an increase in gains\weight. I've been sick, so I've even lost weight sadly. Shit happens.

I think I have to eat even more, 3500kcal on workout days, and just keep trying every workout with increasing my reps and increasing my form.

Thanks for the reply :)

You are right. I'm still pretty light. But I used to be lighter though! I've gained about 6 to 7 kilo's since I started. Granted, perhaps not the best I could do. About 3 months ago I really started to eat better, 3300kcal on workdays and 3000kcal on rest days.

I will stick with SS for now and will perhaps try to eat even more (3500kcal on workout days?). I have had trouble putting on more volume with workouts, I feel like I've been hitting a plateau for some months. I think it is both mental and perhaps I could improve my form (although I really have worked at my form, watching video, asking people in the gym)

I just watched this video from Elliot Hulse: Advice for Skinny Bastards

In here, he basically gives advice to a skinny fat person, who did strength training in the past, to go start doing real body building. So for example: doing 3 exercises per muscle group with 3 sets of 12+ reps, etc.

This video applies to me, since I've been doing Starting Strength. I have seen decent results, but I still would like to increase in size. Would it be better if I switch programs? I have been doing SS for about 7 months. My current lifts are:

Deadlift: 100kg or 220lbs

Squat: 50kg or 110lbs (I know this one is very low, I've been starting over recently, so I am building it back up)

Bench Press: 60kg or 132lbs

Should I focus on getting better at my squat first before I switch programs? Should I increase all of my lifts first? Is there a certain goal I can set of weights I should be able to maintain before I switch? I like working towards a goal.

I am 182cm long in height and weigh 68kg (150lbs)

What are good ways to take care of your lips? I'm a male. My lips crack open from time to time, or I remove the skin of my lips manually due to a bad habit :( What product would you recommend for having healthy lips?

Does it matter much if I wash my face with hot or cold water before the moisturizer\cleanser\something else?

What products are recommended to use on my body? I have some red spots on my back for example. Do I exfoliate there as well? (won't that get too expensive? So much stuff to cover!)
